Yes! Still trying to figure out why they reviewed the Splinter Cell collection here and not the good ones like this though... *scratches head*kuraimenbc in splinter cell the guns go pew pew
I hate the games. Always have. But these are just HD upgrades and most of the time the HD upgrades are average at best. A remake is what Halo is getting or what Riddick-Butcher Bay got.
[QUOTE="kuraimen"]Yes! Well they didn't have a problem "wasting time" reviewing old Splinter Cell's though.
you should check them out ICO looks amazing i never played it on the PS2 but god damn is it pretty on the PS3I hate the games. Always have. But these are just HD upgrades and most of the time the HD upgrades are average at best. A remake is what Halo is getting or what Riddick-Butcher Bay got.

it's ok, not as impressive a remaster as i was hoping for.
at least it was cheap the launch sale price at best buy was $25 so i don't feel ripped off or anything.

I know that Shadow of the Colossus is supposed to look really good as well with the detail on the colossi.CR00Ki think the bigger difference in sotc is that they fixed the frame rate issues

i was on the fence about buying it but at $25 there was no way i was going to pass it up.

yeah, i wouldn't have paid 40 even though it may be worth 40i've been switching between ico and killing a guardian in sotc though i own sotc and have played it beforeI haven't played Ico yet so I reserve judgment for when I do, but SotC is excellent. If you've never played it and you have the audacity to still call yourself a gamer, you owe it to yourself to play it and the remaster is the ideal way to experience it.

I love just holding L1 and running around them , looks so epic.

I disagree I hated that remaster... The controls were actually made WORSE... They didn't make it true dual analog... The right stick doesn't move the screen it just moves the reticule... And the left stick moves your character... it plays really really awkwardly it is almost impossible to aim.. It was easier with the N64 actually because there was only one stick the direction of where you where moving and where the aiming of the reticule was going didn't conflict one another.
They've only had a HD makeover and the fps have been increased. Hardly a remaster, but it is better than most HD classics released.
All these "remastered" games are a waste of money imo. The developers should put in some effort and actually create new content instead of just porting the same game at a higher res.
How good a remaster is should be based on the remastering process and the end product, not on how good the game itself already was. From my understanding the Shadow of the Colossus/Ico HD port didn't do anything special versus what other HD port have already done.

Cause that's very wrong , very very wrong

This is the bare minimum for the HD collections you see with the exception of maybe 3d which is par for the course for Sony's HD collections.
If you want an actually drastic improvement of graphics thenthe Halo, MGS and Resident Evil Remakes completely blow the Shadow of the Colossus port out of the water in terms of improvements.

You should watch the behind the scenes that come with the game. Or if you don't want to own epicness you can prolly watch them on youtube. They did more then up rez and higher framerate

Yeah, and this is exactly what you should come to expect from any of these HD ports. In this respect the team ico collection is nothing special. The core game experience might be much better than whats seen in alot of other HD ports but thats saying something about the actual games, not the "remastering" process.

On top of the resolution and frame and draw distance they also went back and fixed a ton of textures I wasn't expecting more from it. But Like I said, doing the same thing other hd ports did doesn't make it any better a remaster than any of these other hd collections

yes the graphics blew me away. looks better than most ps3 games. Reminds me of how stunned i was by the graphics back on the ps2AndrovinusI think I ran around the turtle colossus for like 15 minutes just looking at how aweome he looked. It really does stand up to most new games on the market
