Id software lead basically confirms doom 4 for 720, ps4

Not sure if want after that POS known as Doom 3. The only reason I can see people wanting this is for the graphics

Doom 3 was outstanding for what it was. The graphics were top-notch at the time, the atmosphere was perfect, and the gunplay was satisfying.

Would be a good launch title

Why does it assumed to be an old franchise, why not something new? They could be working on a new game, haven't announced it yet and are going to work on porting it over to something new soon. I don't know, the tweet is so vague there is a million assumptions you could make.

Carmack said they're going to go back to Doom's roots: huge battles with tons of enemies and lots and lots of chaos. None of this suspense nonsense. Just full out Doomin' like it should be.

I'm really enjoying Doom 3 BFG Edition so yeah i would love to play Doom 4.

Doom 3 was great when it was released. Looking forward to where they take the next game as for this gen I thought rage was a very solid effort too.

If you don't believe me look it up, this was acknowledged last year by the guys at id.

I really hope for the ID comeback. After the disappointment Rage was and crappy Doom 3 port (they even removed good old Doom 3 from Steam in favor of the new downgraded version!) ID has to prove once again it's title of the FPS fathers.

Also I've read somewhere that Viktor Antonov is in charge of the art design in several Bethesda projects now. I really hope they have him working on Doom 4 or Fallout 4. This guy is just amazing. ID lacks a good artist after Adrian Carmack left.
