id Software talk about cancelled Doom 4. show footage of that game

So they finally show us what they were working on in 2010. and it looks like Rage and COD mixture. so glad they cancelled that trash. even director of game reffer it as "call of doom"

the design and everything choosen from Rage. and we can see the ugliness of ID tech 5 aka worst engine of all time.

I love how marty admit Doom is about one guy and not complete squad.

Bethesda is now becoming my fav company. first they cancelled consolized call of doom 4 in a favor of Real old school FPS. then they cancelled far cry in space called Prey 2 in a favor of new PREY that is more like old school immersive sim in the vien of System shock and Deus Ex!!.

RAGE was below mediocre gameplay wise and we all know how CoD is. So if Doom 4 was supposed to be a mix of the two, good thing it was cancelled because that would've killed Doom as a series.

If they had more sophisticated maps and enemies more varied like Quake, Rage could have been a very good game.

The open world stuff wasn't needed.

and if Rage was not faliure. we would have Doom 4 and not that amazing masterpiece released this year. so Rage failure is blessing in disguise.

I was against Rage 2 before DOOM. but now after DOOM I now really want Rage 2.

Indeed, failure is a stepping stone to success.

I'm glad they didn't bother with Doom 4. Doom reboot 2016 was so fucking amazing, I'm still replaying the single player game now on my PC and I was really amaze how optimize the game really is. Doom 3 was also good despite it get's hated but then again, it was my first Doom game before I tried the other Doom games.

This being my first Doom game I have to say "thank f#ck for that ".

Fun game and brings back some nostalgic memories of Unreal, quake 3, Golden Eye, perfect dark, time splitters...

what does these three have to do with Doom?

They have more in essence than say CoD, the multi player side of doom brings back fun times running around as a monkey on TS2 on a small map trying to get to some Decent gun, kinda same for PD playing proxy tag and 007 with the man with golden gun.

But not really the Single player though.
