IF all 3 Consoles where the Same price.. Who Would Win?!

Now before I start this topic i know this a total hypothetical situation and woulud never happen due to competition no consoles will all be the same price BUT Lets just say for discussion sake that the Wii, 360 and PS3 all sold for $600.00, which console do you think would sell the most? Well here is my opinion on which console would sell the most, first ill list my reason for each console and why I think they would or would not sell as good

Wii- Would come in dead last place, simply because the reason behind the Wii's success is because its the most cheapest alternative for "JR" on Christmas and its the easiest choice for parents and lets face it, the majority of gamers are made of kids and there would be no way Mom and dad would pay $600.00 for game console for 11 year old JR. So the Wii would not win.

360-if the 360 was $600.00 it would sell kind of good but not nearly as good as it is now. Sure Gears is amazing and has groundbreaking graphics BUT for $600.00 for a console that you have to pay extra xbox live membership fees, Battery play and charge pack or batteries, no built in wireless and just uses standard DVD format, $600.00 would just be wayyyy to expensive for the average gamer considering the above facts

PS3-Last but not least is the PS3 which is in real life $600.00.. No doubt that the PS3 would blow the competition out of the water if the competition was the same price, I mean lets face it. Built in blu ray, Built in wifi, Built in web browser, Way better 1st/2nd party game line up along with 3rd party exclusives, HDMI, FREE online play just overall has a better physical appearance and last but not least it is a lot more reliable..

So after analyzing these facts.. If all 3 consoles where the same price my conclusion is.. PS3 Would Win and not only win but would KILL the competition. The point of this thread is to prove that the PS3 is just the better all around console, its not the cheapest console but it is the better console and I bet if you ask any gamer which console they would choose if all where $600.00 atleast 85% or mor would say the PS3.

So what is all of your opinions on the subject?

OH heck yea the PS3 would win by a landslide dude. EVERYONE wants a PS3, the only complaint people have about the PS3 is simply the price, noone ever complains about the hardware and future software line up, its only the price. If all the consoles where $600.00, lets just say 360 and Wii would be discontinued in a years time.

if they were all 250, and yiou're not counting the helloflot of downgrades, i'd say i'd just get them all for only 150 more than the current ps3. what great deals and what happy people. and end of system wars since if you don't like it, just get it anyway. and i would have saved so much money on the blue ray player even if it doesn't win, i don't care if i never use the ps3 at all.

if the ps3 was 300$ , sony would go bankrupt .

If the ps3 was 300$ and didn't have the blu-ray . PS3 would win over the 360 .

Wii will always lead , it not even a challange . the wii could have only 1.0 rated games ( AKA big rigs ) and still win the console war , why ? casuals are dummies ( by the way , Im not trying to bash the Wii here , just trying to say that the wii would win because of casuals , no matter what ) .

Hopefully all of these will be fixed with time, I would have probably tried picking up a PS3 and 360 anyways though because I like both systems.

Cause first off the Wii is cheaper so ofcourse no one would wanna pay so much more then what it actually costs...same with the 360 it would just cost much more when it's already cheaper. Agreed, DVD9 would bring the PS3's price down from the stratosphere and pretty much assure a victory, assuming it beefed up its game library too.

Yeah, only time will tell if Sony's gamble with the consumers hearts payed off or not with the Blu-Ray.........it's about a toss up right now

They say Blu-Ray's in the lead now, but I think's a pretty shallow victory when over 3/4 of the potential customers don't even have the TV necessary to take advantage of an HD format.  Too soon to tell. 

This makes lil sense. If a Wii was 600 it wouldn't sell obviously.

I'll be blunty honest. Sony's PS3. While the 360 does have a great deal of games and the Wii appeals to the casual, Sony has MASSIVE brand name recognition that they could milk if they were the same price as the other consoles.Vandalvideo

Mein gott the PS3 was a bad idea. If Sony had just made a $300-400 console it would have slaughtered the 360. But no, it had to be more powerful. :roll:

I didn't read the original post, but the answer is PS3. 

if you are gonna make fictional scenarios might as well make them interesting not something obvious. obviously with your argument the ps3 would sell the most because the others would be grossly overpriced

i think a better question would be if they all retailed for 600 dollars but had similar graphical and processing power.

lets say ps3 where it stands now - 600

360 with wifi and hddvd - 600

Wii- upgraded graphics and cpu( roughly close to ps3/360) with added hddvd or blu ray -600
