If all games were multiplatform i don't see the point investing or playing on a console anymore.I'd play on PC only. Consoles sell because of exclusives ( God of War, Uncharted, Mario, Gears of War, Halo ), overall PC is cheap, better and lasting system when it comes down to gaming...imo.

I still prefer party games and sports games on consoles. So..... yup. I'll still have to buy consoles.

Of course not. However I believe many of my favourite exclusives would never be made if it was not for premoting a platform.

No what would be the point when I could have a better (and usually cheaper) version of every game they have?

I'd rather play in sub-HD and 30fps with friends, then 1080p and 60fps with strangers.

So ... I'd game on whatever the majority of my friends had.

I'd pick what platform suited my personal needs, and the one which had the best power to cost ratio for playing games and worked out the best over the lifespan.

I would say that the PC would suffer more than consoles if that happened.

Not exactly :P power to cost at initial entry, PC is still too much for gaming in my eyes entry cost always is higher but it has its downsides.

Depends on where I was in the life cycle of my PC/consoles. I simply cant see dropping $800-1000 on a PC just to play a handful of games. Now in my case, I am in that time frame that my desktop is about 8 years old and very slow and outdated and I do intend to buy a PC that is capable of top notch gaming and in all honesty will replace consoles as my main gaming platform.

I would probably have bought all the consoles anyway, only to realize that I should have been Playing on the PC the whole time.

From here on out it will be PC.....That is if Exclusives never Existed.

[QUOTE="SNIPER4321"]No because i hate playing with controller controller hurt my thumb

Hardcore console gamers adapt to their thumb position, hell when I compare my thumb to other people's thumbs (weird thing to do o_O) their's will always look smaller and weaker, it's pretty cool.

Sure. These would be some positive steps: eliminate GfWL, Origin, Impulse, etc. and centralize all accounts under one service, ideally Steam. Eliminate TeamSpeak and Ventrilo and centralize all voice chat in game, using Steam's friends list for global muting. Eliminate server browsers and centralize multiplayer onto a pool of virtualized dedicated servers populated by a matchmaking service driven from your Steam friends list. Focus driver updates on reliability instead of edging the competition out on benchmarks. Have bug fixes for drivers ready on release day (similar to how console games ship with the version of drivers they were tested against). Those are a few improvements that would make PC gaming much more compelling for me. They'd also turn off a lot of the existing fan base, so I'm not holding my breath.

Yes of course I would.

Also, you're wrong, exclusives for the most part don't actually sell the Consoles, multiplats do.

Yes. Some games are just better played on a TV. Connecting my gaming PC up to my TV is a big hassle that's not worth it.

No, they don't. Maybe in the case of 360s, they are a factor, but not a reason to buy it.

Yes I would still buy a console. The PC would be in the living room hooked to the TV and monitor and the console would go up in my kids bedroom.

Sure, for now. Consoles are easy to use, require no expensive upgrades to use them from start of life cycle to finish and are perfect for lying back on my couch whilst playing them.

I've already tried going it alone with the PC during the short time between the 3DO and PSX..... couldn't do it. Although I assembled a couple of PCs, I still bought a PSX and later, an N64.

Probably not. I might have to give up sports games though since I'd rather play those on consoles.

I would probably go with playstation brand because the console would be cheaper to being with. It would have free online and wouldn't have the terrible online that Ninty's consoles have.

  1. Cost
  2. Unified service
  3. Recommended specs

These are the reasons I would use a console if necessary.
