If anyone is curious as to why Starcraft is still one of the best RTSs today...

Starcraft 2 doesn't get that much talk on here, despite their being huge game changing announcements made about it several times a month. I feel this is because most people on here simply don't PC game and don't understand what the big deal is.

So, just to get the word out there and maybe even spark some interest -- i'm here to inform you that some big LIVE professional Starcraft matches are being broadcasted tonight from Korea with excellentenglish commentators.

The show starts in 30 mins. Simply go to www.gomtv.net and download their media player (takes 2 seconds).

Then go to this link: http://www.gomtv.net-- and click "Go Live!" (it will appear in 20 mins or so).

This is really high quality stuff, and the first game is a Protoss (MoviE) versus the best Zerg player in the world (Jaedong).

So stay up late for some Starcraft! You won't be dissapointed!!

EDIT: first match is actually Pure vs Flash (currently the top Terran player in the world)

I am trying not to get hyped for starcraft 2, after blizzards recent game my faith in their ability to balance anything, even labeled weights on a scale, is non-existent.

StarCraft is the best video game to date IMO...

Pc gamers are not the best community either... We are too busy whining about how "evil" blizzard is or how outdated the gameplay mechanics are. Sometimes I feel like we deserve the title of "a bunch of elitists".

maybe because the game is 1287321873 years old. Newer Pc gamers wont really know about it and will be more into the CnC side of the RTS world. thats my guess anyway.

Its an awesome game by far one of my most played pc games ever but its just old.... n specially in PC world old doesnt last unless it has regular updates.

I know all about Star Craft damn i almost messed up one of my eyes playing that game for to long.

But i hate Blizzard Bum Boys, i hate the fact that this Star Craft 2 is not out yet and is touted as the best thing ever i hope it flops just to spite people ("Nice huh :P"), well yeah i also dislike its similarity to Warhammer and the fact some idiots call Warhammer out for copying COPYING its themes.

We all know the game will be amazing but give me Diablo 3 anyday over this Eltist attracting pile of Goop.

ah dang i thought you said there were SC2 games being played.... I can watch Starcraft being played 24 hours a day on TV here.

CnC came out before SC...

But yeah I agree that more RTS games are leaning towards the CnC and R:TW formulae.

I also agree that it is an old game. Alot of people need to wake and realize that there are newer, better games than starcraft. Its their loss that they don't get to enjoy them.

It's because the Koreans made it their national cybersport. :P

In the end I prefer the FIRST Dawn of War. 8)
