Where did ou see this 12GB? The game will fit on one DVD compressed the same way it will be on the 360.

that is uncompressed, compress it and it will be like 4 gig
no way not that small, it would look like junk.PSP games suffer from Compression from there PS2 counter parts and you can really tell. I think they can make Custom DVD's bigger,[QUOTE="Bishop1310"]So in the thread telling u what u need to run cod 4 on ur pc. it says its 12 gig.. well cant 360 dvds only hold 9 gig? im just wondeing, is there more content in the pc version then?Deihmos

he must not undewrstand the patch nature of the PCPC's it's telling you to have 12 gigs of free space for future patches and sometimes patches can be 50mb but they can rewrite files and add 1 or more gigs to your hardware.

The PC version probably has slightly higher resolution on the textures, and must include more lower-end graphics, so that it can run on minimum-spec systems. The 360 version, being configured to run on all 360s, means (in most cases) just one set of textures for the game. Also, due to the 360 having a different memory architecture than most PCs, it enables the use of better compression w/o loss in quality. The PC version must be layed out mostly uncompressed on the hard drive to achieve those slightly quicker load times (which will only happen if the game is configured properly for your hardware setup. The game for PC will still come on a single DVD, and then uncompress to the hdd during installation.
Really? Well how does it fit on the DVD they ship it on then?[QUOTE="cobrax75"]since PC hard drives have so much room, they dont need to compress the files.farrell2k
PC games are compressed on DVD, and decompressed to HDD. Consoles, like the 360 use real-time decompression from the DVD.
Yes and they decompress once onto the HDD. As for the 360 version, its compressed in packs, being decompressed when needed. Meaning that the loading times are a bit longer, but a MUCH cheaper console that benefits the consumer more than anybody elseIt will come with an installation disc like Oblivion GOTY.
Or single player on one disc and multiplayer on the other.
PS3?? All one disc. Would suck if it has performance issues like most games PS3 shares with 360.
not compression dual layered dvd discs can hold 15gignaitsirhc
That line will go down as one of the stupidiest I've seen.
