if devs were smart, they would make more/better games for consoles. HEAR ME OUT!

ok, personally, i've been gaming since the ps1 days, and now currently own an xbox 360 and have been playing it happily.

The reason i support what i said in the topic is that consoles are easier for the majority of consumers to use for gaming. What i mean is, for games like Crysis, which is a high end game with amazing graphics and is a great game in many people's eyes, needs a high end pc to play. from my knowledge, to really get the full experience of the game, you need to build a pc, with all of the parts and stuff included, and personally i have no idea how to build a pc at all.

also from my knowledge, the majority of consumers don't know how to build a pc either, or are not willing to pay alot of money for a high end pc. that is probably why the cryengine2 is premiering on consoles, because devs for pc gaming are seeing that consoles is where all of the money is at.

does anyone agree and or are there any other console gamers like me that have no idea how to build a pc? i know i'l probably be flamed as a n00b or whatever, but i'm just being honest.

if your not a PC gamer at all...than you really shouldnt even start to assume anything...since building a PC is so easy, you have to be stupid to not be able to do it.

Cryengine 2 being consoles has absolutly nothing to do with anything..Crytek wants a multiplatform engine, so it can be used for multiplatform games, for most people, thats not exacly a hard concept to grasp...obviously not for you though.

Eh? Good graphics ala Crysis =/= good game... and right now there are arguably more quality games coming out for consoles than for PC.

GS, people realized that GR wasnt gonna work because the reviews were constantly changing and because many of the sources accepted had obvious bias to them, and very differrent review systems.

You're right. Most people think that building a PC is super hard and you have to build it from scratch. It's not, all you do it buy the parts and screw it in a case. Cryengine was multipplatform in the first place (just not shown) and it really has nothing to do with the specs of Crysis.

well if you want crysis like game on console in the middle of the console life cycle then console would have to cost twice as much. consoles are boring, they stay the same and nver get better, which mean there is very little devs can do to make games better

But it still take practice amirite? I mean you can't just come out of nowhere and start making computers, you need some knowledge. So someone who doesn't know how to make a computer isn't stupid :|

hmm,,i get that it may be easier than i think, but to alot of people it may still be more difficult than just going out and buying a console to play current generation games. that's all i'm saying because not all consumers out there are tech savvy.

The thing about Crysis is that in order to play that with all the graphics turned to "Very High" with full Anti Aliasing requires secret Area 51 technology not yet available for us pathetic mortal humans. See, the PC has near-perfect backwards compatibility; there's never been a "PC version 1", if a game played on a PC 5 years ago it'll still play today. The closest it gets to not having good BC is Windows versions, but most anything that plays on Windows 95/98/2000/XP will play on Vista.

However, your computer today may not play the computer game of tomorrow: Crysis is a perfect example. The consoles are the exact opposite. Their backwards compatibility is not as well-defined (the PS3 tried it, but went back on it). However, it has almost perfect forwards compatibility. If the game is for the Xbox 360 it'll play on your Xbox 360, guarenteed. Even if your Xbox 360 was purchased at launch and the game was released a year from now it'll STILL play. That wouldn't be the case with a PC: a PC purchased a year ago might not be able to play games released a year from now.

The PC has more AA/AAA exclusives every year.

Bunch of unknown PC games versus major consoles titles, lol

Also building a PC is not easy, even if you have the money.

What an ignorant comment.

You know why the PC has the most AAA's and AA's every year? Because devs know console players have short attention spans. As Jangojay put it, they have the attention span of a brick. That's why most console games are not all that and a bag of chips. They just jump from game to game and never stick around for seconds.

What's hard about building a PC isn't putting it together, rather it's quite intimidating looking at a MOBO and seeing where everything goes. Trust me, you'd have a mini-heart attack when you build a new comp and it doesn't POST.

It's not easy when you can pay someone else to do it for you? Man, such laziness.

But there are wierd things that could happen. One time, my computer refused to recognize my keyboard and mouse. It took me three days to realize it was because I had three memory cards: 2 1GB and 1 2GB. After removing a 1GB, the computer booted up as normal. I didn't know why it refused it before. Strange ... anyway these kinds of hardware incompatiblities/errors/who knows what show up all the time. If you're not technical to realize what might be the problem, it could and probably would completely stump you.
