If Gears 2 Is released in 08.. Sony should just quit the gaming biz

The bottom line is, yes so far sony does have the most impressive 2008 line up out of the big three.. Ill even admit that as both a PS3 and 360 fan i think the 360 is the better console but to be perfectly honest.. Not ONE 360 exclusive in 2008 impresses me.. With that said, I do however think that if MS would announce Gears 2 for 2008 it would be huge enough to shadow ALL of PS3s 2008 line up.. Dont get me wrong, MGS4, Killzone 2, Gran Turismo 5 and Socom will be Great but Gears 2 would just be on a totally different level, its the type of game that just that one game alone would overshadow all of PS3s exclusive.

Infact im going to go out on a limb and say Gears 2 would break Halo 3's record with no problem.. When I play Xbox live and even when I play Halo 3, i hear a lot of people on there talk about how they cant wait until Gears 2, The bottom line is.. If MS can pull off Gears 2 in 2008, i honestly dont think sony could do anything to combat the hype and publicity that game would get.. But on the same token, if MS doesnt announce Gears 2 or something with equal greatness for 2008, then they are in a world of trouble becasue so far.. PS3s 2008 line up destroys the 360s 2008 line up

Even if Gears does come out in 08, PS3 has stuff thats on calibur to it. MGS 4 and GT 5 say hello.

Gears is a good and classic game but it isn't good enough to put a monster company like Sony out of bussiness..

If gears comes out in 08 then thats good because i'llhave MGS4,GTA,and Gears2 in the same year.

A.) There are already 5 million GeOW owners out there, do you expect them to repurchase another 360 along with their copy of GeOW2?

B.) Halo 3 sales are starting to fade away already, and I think that game is only on 6 mil. Sure it it will probably hit 8 mil by 2009, but GeOW and Halo players are in the same demographic.

GeOW2 will be a great sequel and will sell 5-7 million copies (adding the newcomers). It won't push many consoles and it won't effect Sony at all, because the everyone who wants to play shooters on the 360 already has one.

How is Gears going to overshadow GT5, MGSIV, and Killzone next year? Really?

I do think GT5 will outsell all of these titles except for GTA. It may take a while, but GT puts up some amazing numbers.

The 360 also has a bigger userbase than the ps3 now. Even when the ps2 had that giant userbase, GT4 only sold 8 million.

huh? read my above post. Do you honestly expect GT5 to even come close to GT4 sales, when the ps3 only has what.... a 15th of the user base that the ps2 had?? It's all about the userbase.

There were 100 million PS2's when that game was released. There are only 8 million PS3's now. If 3/4ths of all PS3 owners bought GT5 (which won't happen) it still won't match Gears of War.

I don't understand why people love MGS for...I have played 2 & 3...and I just couldn't get into it... the 3rd one in particular made me question what makes the story so "awesome"...Really it was very hollywood-likethe the whole falling in love with the Russian secret agent was done by XXX,James Bond and several others.

Personally, I don't think Gears 2 is that big a deal. I know a few people like myself who only bought GeoW because there was a severe lack of quality titles and it looked like the first true next gen FPS (PD:Z was crap). With so many quality titles out now, not to mention all the great titles in store for 2008, I don't think GeoW2 will make the impact you think it will.

That said, I don't find the PS3's 2008 line up all that compelling. Other then MGS4 and possibly FF and GT (which most likely will be pushed to 2009) therearen't a lot of high calibur titles in their line-up. The rest are new IPs or sequels to less then stellar PS2 titles. My most hyped games, other then NG2 and SSBB, are all multiplats: DMC4, SC:C, Fallout 3, Star Wars: Force Unleashed andOperation Flashpoint 2. Seeing as how those titles can be found on multiple consoles as well as the PC I think all systems have a decent year lined up.

...hell i gave the series two attempts...both times i simply didn't like the game...its not that they are bad games...they just didn't interrest me gameplay and story wise.
