If May's NPD figures show that the Wii out sold the PS3 and the 360 by a huge amount even with GTA IV available, what will the Wii haters say now ?

notice how there are many threads about whether the ps3 outsells the 360 or vice versa when npd numbers come out.

I dont think Wii is really taking sales away from 360 or PS3. If the Wii disappeared, I don't think sales of the other two would suddenly jump. I think Wii appeals to both the "hard core" pie and the "casual" pie, while PS3 and 360 are only appealing to the "hard core" pie. IMOflazzle

I think it is in my opinion not much but I can see a parent with doe (money) going to Best Buy to buy her 14 year old a console and looks at her options and sees the PS3 at $400, 360 at $300 and the wii at $250 and the sales rep "how old is your child" mom"14yr old but will be 15 in next month" Sales rep "yea he is still young" (cuz sales rep dont know jack) "get a wii its cheaper and more games and everyone is buying one" .

Yes, it's a lot like PC graphics. Everyone knows they're superior, but people still want to say that Uncharted looks a hair better than Gears of War, and ignore Crysis completely. It always has been a fight for second place.

Funny, Haven't seen a Wii in best buy in months. You'd probably(maybe not) be really suprised that a majority of people who purchase(or have games purchased for them) are 12-16... It personally bring s a smile to my face when I deny a kid from buying GTA4. :)

I guess the PS3 and Xbox 360 fans won't say anything. They'll be playing GTA IV.

Easy. As somebody metioned before, Grand Theft Auto is a casual franchise. Great game, but it's still a casual franchise.

Here's a tip that might shock you: just because it's brown and has violence doesn't mean it's hardcore. Also, primary colors don't make a game casual. Fire Emblem is not casual. In fact, it's 50 times more hardcore than Grand Theft Auto.

Again, Grand Theft Auto is great, but it's still as casual as Guitar Hero and Madden. Deal with it.
