If GTA IV gets GOTY over LBP,MGS4 or Gears 2.. Who else will be mad?!

If GTA IV ends up getting GOTY over LBP,MGS4 or Gears 2 im going to be pretty mad.. I own GTA IV and i have to admit its terribly boring, i tried to give it another shot and the benefit of the doubt by playing online again tonight but it was such a snoozefest, even the other players playing didnt really get into it, one of the players was singing while playing while the other one was talking to the other player about sports.. I mean seriously, thats how boring this game is

After watching gameplay vids for LBP,MGS4 and Gears 2.. Those games look waaay better than GTA IV.. Now ofcourse those games arent out yet so im not going to jump the gun by saying they are amazing but if they turn out to meet or exceed expectations, they will be amazing games.. Especially Gears 2 and MGS4, I honestly think Gears 2 and MGS4 should duke it out for GOTY this year, it would be so much more intresting considering they are both exclusives although i honestly do think Gears 2 would end up winning over MGS4 by a very tight race but you never know...

Anyway the bottom line is this.. out of all the other great games coming this year, GTA IV DOES NOT deserve GOTY and if it gets GOTY it will prove furthermore that games are built around hype and nothing else

I love GTA 4 in my personal opinion it trumped every game out there right now.

SO unless i personally find MGS 4 better, i won't be mad over GTA 4 winning. The game deserves the high scores, it isn't perfect but it is pushing boundaries and in terms of sheer scope, freedom, and depth of story it is leagues beyond the competition in the sandbox genre.

and just about every other AAA game seems underwhelming next to GTA 4. Even Galaxy which i personally love.

Not me, because I'll probably play GTA IV more than any of those games, althought LBP will definitely take up a lot of my time. MGS has done nothing for me, but MGS4 looks alright.BioShockOwnz

I'm a Wii only gamer, but I've recently played some PC games. Remember, just because I am listing these games, doesn't mean I like or give a crap about them. Here's the top ten that I think will be running for GOTY this year.

Spore

Starcraft II

Grand Theft Auto IV

Metal Gear Solid IV

Gears of War II

Little Big Planet

Resistance 2

Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts

Super Smash Brothers Brawl

Prototype/Dead Space/Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (One will be.)

Yeah it is more casual friendly, but multiplat games will appeal to more people for obvious reasons.

I won't be mad if GTA4 gets GOTY. It has been an amazing game that I won't put away for quite some time

GTAIV was a great game, but I can't say I would be happy if it was the best this year has to offer.

Why does any good game have to be followed up by months of threads about how over-rated it is, like the thread creators are some deities and their opinions are facts?

Jeez...stop whining and nit-picking. Don't like the game or find it boring, don't play it. I find RPG games boring, but I don't sit around making threads about how "over-rated" FFVII is, or how Oblivion was a hyped piece of trash.

I just accept that some people love them, and I am not one of those people, and I leave it at that... Is that so hard to do?

Games I think could win GOTY are:

Spore, Gears2, MGS4, Starcraft2, GTA4, STALKER:Clear SKies(theres a curve ball for you), farcry2, and I dont know there are way to many games coming out this year that are contenders.

From the way LittleBigPlanet is looking, if it doesn't get GOTY it's the greatest injustice of all time.

I wouldn't be mad, but I am quite dissapointed with GTA4, its like there no more reason to actually play to finish, it just quite boring halfway through, and if your going to tell me to do the bank robbery mission. I have... But when I got DMC4 with GTA4 ( deal on game) I had more fun playing DMC4 instead :?

Well I guess thats your opinion... But I reckon they really made an improvement... Its actually the first gta game ive been able to keep playing past half way and actually start feeling sorry for some of my victims
