I know its very far fetched thinking ALL these games score a 10 but on the other hand its actually possible since all are amazing titles, so lets say if all these games score a 10 this year, which will deserve GOTY?! As much as im a MGS4 and Gears fan I actually have to say Little big planet will be more deserving since its a fresh, new IP, Very new and innovative gameplay unseen in any game and very different overall, if that game scores a 10 I think it will be the most deserving on GOTY.. oh dont get me wrong, Gears 2 is going to be awesome infact I think Gears 2 will be better than any of those games i just mentioned but in all fairness it is just Gears 2 and while it will be amazing Little big planet will bring something so new and fresh and if it scores the same as those other games, I think GOTY should go to it
LBP has no chance of scoring a 10 and Gears 2 has a snowballs chance. Anyway neither is out right now so to decide whether they are goty material or not is a waste of time.
Gears might score a 10, but IMO I don't think LBP will score over a 9. It might score a 9. But I expect it to be about 8-8.5. As far as GOTY is concerned, there are to many other games coming out still that are big hitters, like Gears 2, and don't forget about Fallout 3.
really cant see gears getting a 10, probably an 8.5 seeing as its exactly the same as number 1, as for LBP, i can def see it getting a 9.5, im still going for mgs4 as GOTY
Firs of all, GTA IV didn't deserve a 10 Imo. Id give it a 9 at best. Secondly, LBP will in no way, shape or form get close to a 10. In fact Im betting it dosn't even garner a 9. That game has 8.0-.5 all over it if its lucky. MGS 4 may well be a game of epic proportions, but does it truely deserve a perfect score?Is it really a "PERFECT" game? I somehow doubt it! Gears 2 wont score a 10 either. Id say itll get a 9 easy and maybe a 9.5 with all of the iprovements EPIC has made!! My GoTY list...

Um, well, 10 doesn't mean perfect on this site...so your MGS4 point is useless, how does LBP look like an 8.5 where as GeoW2 looks like a 9.5. LBP is something different for consoles, while GeoW2 is a very gerneric game, and what improvments have epic made? 2 more players in an online match? better graphics? a flamethrower type gun? seriously, epic has put out a terrible effort on improvements.

you gotta be kidding me, you seriously expect gta or gears of war to get GOTY over mgs4? gta and GoW are both good but incredibly generic, gears is just going to be the same as the first one which knocks it right off from goty and gta 5 probably wont get it, so it will either be starcraft, wrath of the lich king, resistance 2 or MGS4
i think GS doesn't have the b---- to give anything else GOTY.. They're going to back out and save face by giving it MGS4. To say that Gears2 or LBP are 8's and 9's is going out on a limb. If you look around, there has been anything quite revolutionary in terms of game play yet with the exception of wii-fit. If I were making a bet, it'll be MGS4 this year.

LBP, just because it's unique and stuff. I mean GTAIV was the GTA formula executed amazingly, and MGS4 was the MGS formula executed amazingly, but neither of them really shake it up too much...
The crazy thing I find about MGS4 reviews, is there is all these different sites I never heard of reviewing it. If u go to n4g forums u will see that alot of people are quite amazed at the attention MGS4 has brang to reviews from all these different game sites and even msn, fox news, aol and even newspaper weekly's reviewing it. I think the impact that MGS4 has brought to the gaming industry is so big that all of sudden even none gaming sites want to review it.
Edit: As of right now a friend of mine from n4g forum has given me the number of reviews already given for MGS4 and he said there are still many more reviews to come. As of now and its only been a few weeks since the first review of MGS4 has come in there are already a whopping 170 reviews for MGS4 and still counting. If that aint crazy as it is, then I dont know what other game has drawn so much attention in such a small time of reviews.
If LBP gets a 10, then LBP should get GOTY. Only if its out of those 4 games though. If it gets GOTY hopefully more developers will want to create more innovation in games.
GTA4 and MGS4 had that going for them, so that took them over the edge while other games may have had some of the same issues, the flaws would not be overlooked.
