If Halo Reach is as good as advertise wouldn't that mean Halo3 is no more

Think about it many of us Halo fans really liked Halo 1 single player the most and while Halo 3 multiplayer is more fundamentally sound, many of us enjoyed playing Halo 2 more. So If Halo Reach is a combination of all the best parts of the trilogy and expansion we love wouldn't that make Halo 3 obsolete. In sense what I am saying is that Halo3 will probably for the first time fall out of the top ten for xbl weekly and might even disappear off the list for good. I know when Halo Reach comes out I will have no intention of playing Halo 3 anymore. Especially if its single player is as epic as Halo 1 was where I played it constantly , and its multiplayer is addicting like Halo 2 was.

If this is the case I will see no reason for any fan to continue playing Halo 3. We saw what happened to Halo 2 where the amount of players dropped off drastically. I am actually hoping this is the case because it will mean Halo Reach is the game every Halo fan wanted.

Okay, well, if the multiplayer is improved, of course fans will migrate from one to the other. Halo 2 to Halo 3 to Halo Reach. Nothing is changing or unexpected about that, at all.enterawesome

Hey don- alittle of topicI noticed your Mac specs, don't agree with the graphics cards, but still impressive none the less and I'm looking into getting a Mac Pro as well.

Oh and Halo 3 will stil be played, just like Halo 2 is being played today~until Microsoft officially can's Xbox 1' live support which will be very soon.

And what does it say of Halo as a series, if the only game that can permanently knock Halo 3 off the XBL Top 10 list is... another Halo game? :)

You know, some people choose Counter-Strike 1.6 over Counter-Strike: Source. A popular multiplayer game won't become obsolete with it's successor release as long as it is different enough.

For a bit most people will move onto Reach but there is one thing that will keep playing Halo 3 AS WELL AS Halo Reach and that is the MAPS. There are two things in multiplayer that cause people to play it and that is the combat and the maps. If either one is terrible then people may not play the game. Combat is more important then the maps but if you have terrible maps then you may not want to play the multiplayer. Reach will without a doubt have different maps, which is a reason why people will eventually play Halo 3 as well. I'm not saying Reach is going to have bad maps, just people wont want to play the same maps over and over again and will then go back to Halo 3. I'm positive Halo 3 will continue being played, probably not as much as Reach but people will still play the game. I know I still play Gears Of War multiplayer just as much as Gears of War 2's multiplayer.xTheExploited

That's a very interesting thought there. I guess it it remains to be seen if we see Halo 3 maps imported and re-envisioned for Halo Reach MP, the same way we saw Halo 1 and 2 maps redesigned and updated for Halo 3 MP.

I love H3 so much, now I hope Reach stinks and is a total failure .. :twisted:
