I have really speedy download speeds on PSN even on my 1MB/sec. connection.

Also PSN+ isn't out yet, so we have no way to know if it will affect dl speed.

Why would anyone here know?

Anyway, PSN download speeds vary for me. Most of the time they zip along at a decent pace, but there have been a couple of occasions where they slow to a crawl.

Download speeds are the same for me....patches are faster on Xbox, but it's not permanent.

I didn't know you had a PS3 or an Xbox 360, I never saw any Gamertag or PSN card, congrats on the purchase! :P

But I CAN'T STAND installs. Good lord, every time I'm excited for a lot of games, I gotta install it, and depending on the internet, can take up to 15 minutes. I'm impatient when this happens, haha.

well for me its about 4 x's faster on xbox live downloading a demo, yes 4 x's and its been tested. I have a 35/35 mb connection and Its tested and the same demo i download 4x's faster on xbox live compared to the same demo on PSN, on the same lan connection. Its also been talked about widely as a bug that SONY seems to not have an answer for. I get at best 7mb/2mb connect on the PSN speed test. garbage.

I know your on 35/35 so you should be downloading at around 7.5 MB per second but really you shouldnt expect too close but a theory i have is that since MS is a company in the US with its base and many users there it will have a higher amount of servers for its network while sony is japanese and might not have as many as a company from the US in the US.

edit: that psn speed test is garbage. don't use it for anything, it fluctuates rapidly and randomly. If you have the chance change dns settings and give it a static ip that helped me.

Are you wired or wireless?

always wired, and tested visualware, speedtest.net on the same exact lan port that I plug into for the PS3, I put the xbox 360 in that same lan port download a "like" demo and time it, take the 360 out of that lan port put in the PS3, do a speed test and I get at best 7mb/2mb, download the same "LIKE" demo and time the demo. Almost always xbox live downloads about 4x's faster and that makes sense since I have a 35/35 connection and its pretty much using 35/35 whereas the PSN doesnt for some reason. Its a problem many have had but until they fix it you have to deal with it. Its more with the PS3 fats from what I have seen.

To be honest, I don't think that information has ever been posted in SW (PSN Id or Xbox Gamertag), if I remember correctly, other users have asked in the past to no avail. :P

I like that PSN has free Multiplayer online, I have spent nearly $1000 on Xbox Live between my two Xbox's and my two 360's over the years, it really adds up.

Live has the best download speeds for consoles, their no question, Steam is a better service than both, but you are over exaggerating the issue with PSN, give me a picture of "Your test connect speed" for PS3 should only take like 10 seconds

If we are going to test your claim and at least support it

I have FIOS and nothing wrong with my settings on my BHR, actually tried 2 of them and also tried everything, DMZ, you name it, it just is a bug from my research for people who have the PS3 FATS, im just saying if they fix it I will get it.

oh look at that, yet another PSN+ flame thread by the same exact guy that made the other 20 ones. Ok lets establish this right now, we won't have to pay for basic services eventually, its not ownage that PSN+ exists because basic services are still free, and netflix, facebook, and that other feature (i forgot what you were talking about)can already be done. ok, moving on. do you even have a ps3? mine downloads just as fast as the Xbox does. Maybe you need a better internet.

Take a picture of your "Test Connection" for PS3, I want to see your connection speeds are really as drastic as you are saying it to be.

Edit: Make sure to include a piece of paper saying "ProjectNatalFan" in the picture for quality insurance to know its yours

Download issue has never been a huge issue, Live does download faster, the main issue I have is installing, installing a demo, installing a patch, thats were I see a big difference between my 360 and PS3. The PS3 applying patches or demos takes tremendous amounts of time over the 360, but I assume thats an issue with their OS

I dont believe you have PS3 TC. Also I dont believe you work for Verizon or whatever that is. My PS3 on a crappy wireless signal will download just as fast as my 360 that is connected via wire. I'm on a 5.5mb connection to boot.

I get 7mb/s - 9mb/s off Wifi. My LAN is 12mb/s to 15mb/s. I can download stuff fairly quickly. PS3 does support 1000BASE-T Ethernet but Im not sure if that means you can use CAT6 cable cause if you could ......... uber fast.

i love how the TC responds to every comment but ignores the ones that ask him to show proof he has a ps3

his profile is blank, he has no avatar, no sig of any kind (gamertag/psn id) its obvious he's a troll craving attention..

I hope so but I doubt it. I was hoping that the manual installs after downloading on the background was fixed too, but I guess not.

PSN is definitely slower and many have the issue that I am having.

ProjectNatalFan

No, it's only you. PSN has great speeds.

My connections fine the way it is, the only times where it might have trouble is when it disconnects during large game updates.

On Xbox Live I get fast downloads and great streaming video. On PSN, well I get very slow downloads and the streaming video is horrible compared to Xbox live. Both are on wired Lan, and I have a 35/35 mb connection tested. I work for Verizon and know everything there is to know about networking, TRY ME. PSN is definitely slower and many have the issue that I am having. Will PSN+ fix this?

ProjectNatalFan

Yup. PSN is so slow it's disgusting. Anyone saying different hasn't downloaded anything from Xbox Live.

Don't feed the troll, Projectnatalfan is the biggest lemming in system wars and he doesn't have a PS3.
