My console would have:

-A Removable HDD (1st party and 3rd party alternatives, like the PS3).

-A Web Browser (a good one! I.E Wii).

-Marketplace (I.E Xbox 360/PS3).

-An Online service (Paid and free).

-IPTV (included in the price of the paid online service).

-Online Movie and TV Show rental/purchase (music too, I.E iTunes).

-Controller (no motion sensing or if motion sensing is wanted make it an option).

-I don't care about the Hi-Def Formats, but it does have to at least play DVDs (then maybe HD-DVD or Blu Ray).

-Some sort of Online Arcade (for coin-ops and newer arcade games).

-I don't really care about this, but a majority of people do. Have a built in WiFi connection (I.E PS3).

-Also, have an Ethernet port (for wired networks).

-For all the Hi-Def buffs, VGA component and HDMI cable.

-Must also have a standard component cable for Low-Def users (like myself).

-I don't know what format the games should be on (DVD9, HD-DVD or Blu Ray).

-Most Importantly, it would have great 1st party and 3rd party games!

This is what I would have, if I was the head of a console company. What do you think? Did I miss something? Did I misspell something? Tell me.

You forgot about the various level of management that would tell you your console would end up costing $1,000 to make and support for it will range in the millions per month.

Thats what console gamers want - a PC. But, they aren't intelligent enough to know what to buy or shop around for. So, they run to console companies that rip them off on features and hardware.

What about the cost? it's the one thing that decides if a console success or fails.

Um... I don't particularly want a PC. I have one. I use it for the Internet.

I like my games and I like my PC, and ne'er shall the twain meet. I prefer my consoles SANS Internet and crazy-ass multimedia support.Â
