If it isnt a 9+ its a flop?

Why is it that the word "FLOP" has become so popular in these last few days/ weeks? People are just using it left and right and i used to beleive without question that all of the games people said were flops, were indeed flops. When in fact all of you people dont look at metacritic. You only look at gamespot. Halo wars didnt flop it got a high B i think and all of my friends including me love that game to death. RE5 has never appealed to me but my friend randy says its fine. IT ALL boils down to opinion.

Too human was fun IMO just a little repetetive at times but if you paid attention to the story it was actually kind of cool. I think a flop is when a game actually S U C K S I.e Bikini Samurai Squad! that game is a waste of coding. The designers should be BEATEN. Generally you people understand what i mean.

K2 graphics > Gears of War 2 graphics

Gow2 gameplay>K2 gameplay

Halo3>all lol (its a very good game and nothing really beats it, you can look at scores/sales ;D)

anyone who says halo is bad is just a lemming because we all know it is a very good game. No one said the best ever made but it very much is the best multiplayer shooter IMO.

Nope, if it doesn't reach the score expected by most users, it is a flop... like Madworld was hyped to get a better score by pretty much everybody here. Id didn't, so it flopped.

If you hype an upcoming game as AAA on Gamespot, and Gamespot only gives it a AA, then it's a flop. It doesn't actually make it a bad game.

Don't think of flop as bad when you read it on the Gamespot forums.

I don't consider KZ2 a flop, because GS took away a whole point because it had "weak story"... like FPS have the deepest stories in gaming :roll: Also, the story was good enough for me to make me look for the original KZ.

Its funny how I was just thinking about last night that Eric lanksherr(whatever his name is) claimed killzone 2 was flop because it didn't have the same score as halo 3. Honestly, to answer TC's question, no a score has nothing to do with it being a flop or not. I remember for warhawk, nobody gave it much expectations, but since it got a 8.5 in the end most people including me were quite surprised that is actually good and many people ended up getting the game, and did find it really fun.

And really, a score and the expectations of a game has nothing to do with it being fun or not, since they're completely detached from the contents of the game. Ratings are only a tool, and nothing to do with the quality of the game itself, not completely 100% word for word anyways.

I think "flop" should be used for games that actually deserve that extreme designation.

To me, Lair was CLEARLY a flop. I mean look at what it scored. It was a game lots of people were excited about, and it ended up being utter tripe.

Of course it's silly! I was answering the TOPIC CREATOR, I didn't create this place!

It is what it is, a crazy SW world. It's crazy like owning only two of the three systems out, but that's how it goes around these parts.
