I've noticed that there has been some talks about Konami reviving the Silent Hill IP and I have absolutely no faith in them cuz they managed to get the project lead for the Sega Genesis' Contra: Hard Corps (as in... arguably the best Contra game of all time) to lead the development of Contra: Rogue Corps, and we all know how well that turned out.
I think it's safe to say that we're all just waiting for Konami to die, so... yeah. If or when that ever happens, who do you think are the ideal owners of Konami's IPs?
To start off the thread, I guess i should post my opinion on which IPs should be owned by what company
DanceDance Revolution/Dancing Stage - Bandai Namco Entertainment
Probably the most logical change in ownership IMO. While arcades aren't exactly as widespread as they were in the 90s, Bandai Namco pretty much owns the arcade market in the Americas (unsure about Europe) with games like Mario Kart: Arcade GP, Star Wars: Battle Pod and the appropriately named World's Largest Pac-Man. They have also brought in pre-release versions of Tekken 7 to select Dave and Busters locations during the development of that game. Assuming that the development of a new DDR cabinet is done internally by Bandai Namco Studios, Inc., I can definitely see BNSI being a valid successor to Bemani. I'd ask for Bamco to also own Castlevania, but the only thing worthwhile would honestly be the Castlevania/DDR crossover songs. If anything, 505 Games is probably the best owner for Castlevania
Zone of the Enders - Kojima Productions
Yeah, I know the obvious thing for Kojima to own would be Metal Gear, though I am under the impression that he wants to work on things other than Metal Gear, and Death Stranding shows. ZotE 3 seems like something Kojima will likely look into in a post-Konami world, provided that he has the intellectual property rights.
Silent Hill - Capcom
Probably a controversial opinion, though given the recent Resident Evil games, I can definitely see Silent Hill being rebooted as part of the RE universe, and probably find a way to make it work. At the very least, Pyramid Head in the Resident Evil engine would definitely be well worth it.
