Then what is left on the Wii to actually get excited about?

I am trying so hard to convince myself I want/need one of these consoles but for life of me I just cannot buy into the Wii hype yet.

It really is a frustrating time trying to decide which console to get this gen. I may just end up buying all 3 since each one has it's strengths and weaknesses and realistically the only way for me to be satisfied fully may just be to have them all. It's a pity that is gonna cost me an absolutefortune. Especially once I buy a few games too...

Are you worried about them being bad games or just not getting above a 9.0 score at gamespot? if its the former I don't personally have much concern because everything I have seen so far (most of which was early build) was impressive. If you are going on the SW flop rating then I think you need to start taking this board less seriously.

I don't see Galaxy being as good as 64 or Coruption being as good as Super Metroid. But I see them being better than Sunshine and Echoes. And Brawl, thats just gonna be amazing.

I'm waiting for E3 to decide that. I don't think 3rd party publishers expected such a sales surge, no doubt they'll be making some interesting new games we know nothing about. Probably won't be just Nintendo's 1st/2nd party titles that stand out in the Wii's library this gen, IMO.

Nights, No More Heroes and Dragon Quest: Swords seem like potential buys for me at the moment.

Not to mention all the other great games that will be out like Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles (with online), Disaster: Day of Crysis, Project HAMMER, Sadness, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, Smash Bros Brawl, Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, Guitar Hero 3, Pokemon Battle Revolution, Mario Strikers Charged,Manhunt 2, Tomb Raider Anniversary, The Bigs, Madden 08, Tiger Woods Golf 08, Ghost Squad (arcade style shooter similar to Time Crysis), Soul Calibur Legends, Fire Emblem: Godess of Dawn and GRAW 2, most of which will appear this year hopefully.

The only one that will dissapoint is Metroid Prime 3, since it has the possibility of blowing people's hopes if it doesn't include an online mode. Brawl is pretty much all but confirmed to be online and if it's only as "good" as SSBM, it'll be one of the best games this generation.

If Mario Galaxy "flops" the same way TP "flopped" (as in, on gamespot, and not in the real world), then I guess nobody really cares, and it won't effect the sales nor general perception of the game in the gaming community as a whole.
