I consider if to extreme choices, I would get one in a few years after a massive pricedrop, for MGS4 only if by then there didn't do any kind of port (and not I didnt they they would, just saying IF!).

I think the PS3 will be considered a failure if it lasts SUBSTANTIALLY less than the often touted 10 year life span Sony keeps shoving down our throats. The lack of sales of the 2 games mentioned could contribute to that... but not the lack of those sales alone. I don't want them to flop... I spent $600.00... ouch!

MGS4 and FFXIII will be so huge that people will actually buy PS3 to play them. I know plenty of people who are saying stuff like "Yeah, I'll probably get a PS3 once MGS4 comes out." or "Yeah, I gotta get a PS3 just so I can play FFXIII!" Konami and Square probably know that they don't need a huge install base to sell lots of copies of their games, because the install base will come to the system with them.
