If MS announces Halo 6 at E3, will that rejuvenate the brand?

MS needs some good news. Their gaming library is quickly becoming the butt of a joke for the gaming community. They haven't had any solid good news except maybe for backwards compatibility, and that appeals to a very small group of people. Most people want brand new, innovative games. But you know that. So the question is, can Halo 6 save Xbox at E3? Will it give gamers something to be excited about?

Halo 4 and 5 were both hot garbage and the MCC is still broken today (hence them still working to fix it). The IP is tarnished at this point. Halo 6 would have to be groundbreaking to save Xbox.

The only thing I'm interested in from them is the rumored Perfect Dark reboot. There's not really a whole lot of spy thriller games out there.

No.... they need some god damn new IP's...... not the same franchises that have been milked to death and that people don't care about any more.

That's like asking "will a new Madden rejuvenate EA's image?" Halo fans will of course be excited (and that's great), but it wouldn't do much at all to alter perceptions of the Xbox brand.

So Halo 5 was the only Halo to not get GS AAA and instead got AA and widely regarded as the very best Halo MP ever and that means the brand needs rejuvenating?

I'm always down for some new Halo. Like others have stated though; Microsoft needs to announce some new IP's that are exclusive to Xbox/Windows to help build a solid game line-up.

High scores? 84 metacritic for a mainline Halo game is pretty low. No Bungie Halo ever scored lower than 90. 343 has yet to make a 90+ game.

Halo and Gears are basically where God of War was when Ascension came out. Stale, tired, declining. They need to be rebooted or they'll just continue to review worse and sell less with each new entry.

Maybe, maybe not. However I will definitely be excited to see some Halo 6 goodness myself. I really enjoyed 4 and 5.

I suggest you go and look at review scores in future to avoid you making yourself look silly.

Halo has been shit for years

Xbox has been getting a very raw deal from reviewers this gen, I suppose MS just won't knuckle under and buy worthless ads on their sites like the others do. lol

I'll go along with you on this though, Halo 5, and I stated this here in SW many times shortly after completing the campaign, is the weakest and I'm hoping 343 took notes and will make a much more compelling campaign and with lots more of MC and Cortana as the main dish. :D

Honestly everyone expects them to. It's Halo, Forza and Gears. What people are actually questioning is... are they going to announce a new IP?

I prefer Xbox over Playstation, but I don't give a damn about Halo. I never have and I never will. It's on my list of most overrated game series of all time. So a Halo 6 announcement will do nothing for me.

Other than to shut-up some Cows in fanboy wars, I honestly don't personally need Microsoft to announce big exclusives since I prefer to buy 90% of multiplats on my Xbox One over my PS4 and Switch so any great multiplat announcement is a point for Xbox in my book since that is the platform that I will probably prefer to play it on.

The exclusives that Microsoft could announce that would get me excited though is definitely not crap like Halo. I'd rather see them announce a new Perfect Dark or a Cuphead sequel.
