If MS buys TikTok

Just speculating here, but if MS buys TikTok (they are in discussions with them now) they could leverage that and bring more people to their ecosystem for gaming, computing, etc.

TikTok's average user is teenaged and this could have a huge influence on their future purchases especially if they also integrate it into Windows 10, XBox, etc

@me2002: like I said above it can be integrated into the products MS uses and it can become game centric. A person with a touch of a button on their controller could share a funny moment in gaming to their tiktok account.

Microsoft will not buy TikTok. TikTok is on the verge of being banned here in U.S or so I heard. Specifically because the Chinese company is using it to infringe on the rights of the people that use it. It is also being used to exploit minors which is becoming an issue.

When you realize that the license agreement requires you to be a specific age, and the majority of people using it are below that age, you realize that it is breaking law, most of which are in place to protect minors. I be shocked to see MS actually gets TikTok.

I’d be surprised if Microsoft doesn’t buy TikTok. I’m sure that they’d integrate it somehow into their gaming ecosystem.

That said, if you think China won't continue to get information from the app after a potential sale, then you're in denial. They probably have 3 different back doors to siphon info from users without their knowledge.

Good luck with China allowing its company to be bought by a western company especially when it's a known brand with potential in the west. They may give up some percentage but complete ownership is out of question.

TikTok is about to get banned in the US. It's just Chinese spyware. If it is bought outright (but we are talking China here, so come on....) then maybe, but China won't just give it up that easily, they will want to sell a portion and not entirety. If it works out then meh... but whatever.

MS have seen a $95 billion boost just based on the potential of acquiring TikTok. They could certainly bring it in line with gaming, as well as social-media use. Still, this needs to be completely separate from China, for obvious reasons.

That's if MS owns 100% of the business and MS would have to give 30% to treasury if they make the deal
