virtual reality will never happen because it will deal with your mental state. ANything that confuse you and make you see and react to things that aren't really there will cause problems. I was once excited about that concept, but i think it is best not to get involve with something that can really do harm. Also unless motion sensing really proves itself it can't become a standard. It hasn't really shown its benefits.

We'll see about virtual reality. It's quite possible that our vision of virtual reality will be quite different from the actual realization. I'm just glad we're taking steps towards it rather than relying purely on buttons.
Well, I think you're wrong about that. Motion control has actually shown a lot of benefits including bringing more people into the folds of gaming. If you think about it, the Wii is truly the first successful system to effectively bring motion sensing technology to the masses. This could have further implications outside of gaming. I wish I could think up of some examples, but if I could, I would probably be a millionaire rather than working for scraps here right now
I just think there will be a lot that will come out of this.
But the casual games on the Wii are affecting the core offerings... they are becoming fewer and far between as time goes on while we are bombarded by shelf-loads of crap. There are some great games on the Wii but there is far, *far* too much crap. At least the PC offers a fair dose of everything for everyone.foxhound_fox
How are they affecting the core offerings? Did you see TGS? Loads of core games being announced along with casual games. And it only seems like it's few and far between because generally, core games take longer to make than casual games. This has always been the case. Do you think that the 360 or PS3 would not be inundated with shovelware if they were the leading console saleswise? Imagine the start of this year. Casual game after casual game being released until last month. You would feel that the core games would also be few and far in between as well.
