I'm still confused as to why they gimped snipers the most in black ops... you'd think they'd gimp the most effective weapons, not the least effective.

I never play as sniper, but I remember being irrated playing MW2 where a sniper would hit you in the foot and it would count as a 1 shot kill. Especially since you know the sniper is just sitting there waiting for you to run through some high traffic area. Sometimes it appeared you weren't even hit, like the sniper rifle had a "blast radius". That was just messed up. I can tell you as a "late arriver" to MW2 that stuff was hella annoying, as were all the killstreaks. In some games it felt like you would get killed 3 or 4 times in a row before you could even move (thanks to chopper gunners killing you right as you spawn). Black Ops had some spawn trapping depending on the map/gametype as well, but from what I could tell it wasn't nearly as bad as MW2. Plus you could play the "barebones" modes where you don't even get scopes or killstreaks. That was actually my favorite mode in black ops, just gunplay, no BS.
Really it should be like Bad Company 2 where with most sniper rifles, only a headshot is a 1 shot kill at a distance. So only a skillshot kills you, not some random "blast radius" snipe that barely knicks you in the foot or doesn't appear to hit you at all in the killcam. Up close it can be 1 shot on the body but extremeties definitely should not be 1 shot kills, bodyshots at a distance should take you down to like 10% health. Not kill you instantly
