They've already said if they leave they're taking everything with them.lantusThey did, however I for one don't believe that in the slightest. They have maybe some of the most talented devs in the world, what else could Nintendo do, go back to playing cards and Hotels? Of course they will have to carry on making games :?
you have to admit though, that eventually pcs will destroy console gaming. Eventually they will be ridiculously cheap, powerful, and compact. You can have any input device at all, so the question becomes, what is a console anyway? What could nintendo do then?Nintendo have said that they won't go third party. They would stop developing games.
Nintendo has never even been close to fail. It has never been a poor company.

And consoles will be even more ridiculosly cheaper thanks to them usually being subsidised.
I was sad enough when Sega went the way of Sega... My Dreamcast's full potential, unrecognized. Sure, the Bleemcast emulator brought new life to the Dreamcast, but still...
And if Nintendo went that way, where would casual gamers be left to turn to? XBox360 and PS3's prices make them pretty much only available to people who want to spend large amounts of money on gaming. Casual gamers would have no console marketed at them. Except Hyperscan or V-Smile, but those things are only entertaining for people under 8.
Are you kidding? That would be great. That means we would have one less console to buy to play great games. I mean look, for three straight systems, Nintendo consoles have been known for having some great first party titles and absolute crap in terms of third party. If they went third party, that means we would never again have to buy a Nintendo system just to play those handfuls of great Nintendo games. If Nintendo systems had healthy libraries that would be one thing, but as it stands, first party games are the only thing holding there systems up for the most part.rpawloski2458
and if Sony or Microsoft dropped out? Developers would shift there support to the other two and we would have the same effect.
not going to happen for a long time...if ever.
but hypotherically speaking.
would be nice to have one less console to buy to get all the greats. that would be the one plus.
but i like that nintendo are thinking outside the box and offereing something completly different to the norm. they really come out with alot of stuff that makes other manufacturers and devs go "ooo...clever". they also make ace hardware thats very reliable overall (not perfect mind) and they have some of the finest engineers in the business. they dont necessarily invent new tech but they take a tech and implement it into games better than anyone else. analogue sticks, rumble, dpads..nintendo were the ones to successfully introduce those into gaming. now we have touchscreens and motion controllers. what will those whacky ppl think of next?
if u ever need a spanner thrown into the works then nintendo are usually the ones with said tool. imho the console market would be a lesser place without ninty. there like the crazy, and sometimes stubborn, dad of the gaming industry.

Also, ignore how some of the spacing is off, for some reason whenever I post on GS it messes up the spacing. Yes, I do spellcheck but it doesn't show up. mynameisdumb
I have that same problem too. Gamespot has issues.
