Because our lord and creator, the Flying Spaghetti Monster made it so, and lo it was good.

But in truth because the 360 is easier too work with, so the developers don't have too spend much time figuring out how too use it. There's probebly other reasons, but I don't really care right now.

1. X360 games are easier to make while the PS3 hardware is relatively new, hence developers aren't quite used to it. Actually, I don't even know if they'll get used to it someday.

2. Cell processor in the PS3 crushes the X360 one but the GPU in the X360 is better than the PS3 one.

Sony released late, and that means way too many games get ported from my awesome 360 to the machine...instead of making it deliberately for the PS3.

Case in point : bioshock is coming to the PS3. Ports dont refect the actual machine well, however, exclusives do.

the exclusive ps3 games do look nice (many of them) but there aren't enough.

No, that's not a fact. While it's probably true that more developers favor the 360 than the PS3 (this is mostly due to it being "easier" to develop for the 360; it's less different), don't generalize them all into the same.

wish people would stop saying "cell is god" bs you see some theoreticle bs numbers that mean nothing. cell is better at some things. and xenon is better at some things. but yes gpus, 360 is better since we can compare nvidia and ati/amd's desktop counterparts

lemmings always forget that the 360 has the edge FOR NOW, and even that is not true if you look at games where the devs put some effort into it the ps3 is even superior (e.g. dmc4, burnout, gta4)

i think when multiplatform games are made for the 360 and the PS3 They are made as equal as possible. There are of course few minor differences. But when games are made exclusively for a system. The developers are able to capitalize on that consoles power and attributes. The PS3 has the ability to have far more data on the blu ray disc whereas the 360 is easier to design code for. Also the 360 has been out longer so developers have had more time with the system.

I don't know if they still had the edge. Before developers were new to the PS3's funny hardware, and tried implementing SIXAXIS...Big mistake. But now Its about even, some games swing to the 360 others go to the PS3. But the difference isn't big...just play the game

If the 360 has such superior hardware then why does the ps3 have the edge on reliability?

If the wii is not next gen and is inferior as most of u cows and lemmings would say then why is it outselling the 360 and ps3?

U see how I could have made a thread yapping about something that is pointless here and can be fanboyish aswell but its a waste of time because u are not going to get a correct answer, its always going to be an arguement. Both consoles are about the same when generating graphics, just some devs know how to take full advantage of a certain system better then others.

Sony need to reevaluated their playstation hardware division and make sure next time they make a console that is easier to develop for, each gen they have gotten worse and they are proving this generation that their poor though out overly complicated hardware hurts them (delays galore and very few games manage to look as good as a 360 game, there are very few exceptions here). The PS3 will have some superior looking games I have no doubt, but they will most likely be out in the distant future and it cannot be cost effective for the companies making them.

THe PS3 will be dependant on its exclusives.

THe multiplats will never fall in the PS3s favor in a massive way.

But games like Killzone 2, Final Fantasy 13, GT 5, MGS 4 are showing the horsepower very well.

we have been hearing that since 2006.... enough is enough

so a small number of multiplats look better on the PS3.... great well all the other multiplats are either equal or better on the 360

Numerous factors. Firstly, the Xbox 360 is usually used as the primary development platform. This makes most multiplatform games on the PS3, essentially ports. Secondly, the PS3's CPU is vastly different to the Xbox 360's CPU, however, games developed on the Xbox 360 can be ported more easily to the PS3 however, games which are build from the ground up to harness the powre of the PS3's CPU, cannot be easily ported to the Xbox 360. Thirdly, the Xbox 360 is easier to develop for, making it often the viable choice as the primary development platform. this is because Microsoft is very good at software so it would stand to reason that this would be the case. In addition, having been out for a year longer, devs have more experience with it, so it makes sense to primarily develop on it.

The 360 is easier to develop for therefore studios face lower costs if they choose to produce a game for the 360 rather than the ps3. I believe that in a few years developers will really get to grips with the ps3 once they have learnt how to develop for it but comparing the number of studios working on 360 titles to ps3 titles it shows how few development houses there actually are who are working out how to get the best out of the ps3. Either way its unsuprising that the 360 has the edge.

1. X360 has a standard PC DirectX structure. I mean, it is a 'DirectX Box' after all, from the team that designed DirectX on the PC.

2. The Playstation 3 has the friggin' cell.

that doesnt make any sense, a car can run faster then all the others but it can also break down easilly, does that stop said car from still being the fastest? no

and by the way nobody claims the 360 has superior hardware, its sony fanboys that claim the PS3 has superior hardware

thats pretty much it, Devs want to make money and porting games from the 360 is the cheapest way to go.

I dont mind if multiplats look the same on both consoles, but I think its silly when one version looks worse. On the comparason GS did you could see that COD4 was pretty much identical on both consoles, and with multiplats thats the way it shuld be.

I think that the ps3 is more powerful, but we can only tell from exclusives and its difficult to compare 2 different games.

ill list them;

the 360 is the lead development platform

the 360 is much easyer to program for

the ps3 isnt quite as powerfull as people say, its comparable to the 360 thus making the first two out-weigh its slight power advantage.

multiplats look almost identical on both, rendering (pun intended:P) this argument futile. they are so close its all just pixel counting.

Ps3 doesn't have better gaming hardware it has hardware engineered to support Sony's blu-ray ambitions. The ps3 is hands down more important for Sony's motion picture studio's, HDTV, and home theatre divisions than it is their gaming ambitions.
