If Sega were to take all of its first party games (which are many) away from Nintendo, MS, and Sony.. add a decent online component, a pretty good controller, great HD graphics and a price tag of 399.99.. would you support it?

People who owned or remember the Dreamcast remember it was great.. and arguably the only reason it lost to Sony was the lack of DVD.

Thoughts?

*assume this would be for the next-gen (PS4, Wii HD, Xbox 720)-fake names but whatever.

MS is sega. look at the controller. take away the extra analog stick on the right and you have a DC controller. When sega folded MS bought up most of their talent and put them to work on xbox. I mean why else would they have gotten peter moore to represent them.

I want to see some more opinion.

Lets make it better.

If Sony were to drop out next-gen, and Sega hopped in... hmm, now there's food for thought?

I would. I loved Dreamcast, Saturn, and (plain) Genesis. Sega seemed to fall apart after going software-only.

If Sega could get some solid 3rd party support and bring back the classic series. I'd grab that system in a heartbeat.

No. I like sega games butt hat set-up would be bad for everyone. The 360 is already $400. Losing all the sega games to another $400 system would just require us to pay another $400. Most people will not do that for sega games...especially considering the current quality of sega games.

I would support a sega system, but it would have to offer something diffirent than just a 360 with less games. That's what's keeping me from buying a PS3.

I would if the console was within my price range as I loved the Genesis, Game Gear, and Dreamcast, but I'd probably be supporting them more out of nostalgic reasons than anything else.  For once I agree with goblaa on something, the current quality of Sega's games are awful.  Outside of the VF games, I haven't played much that I've enjoyed from them in a long time.  If they were to charge more than $300, I'd probably wait on buying the system for a bit.

Yes-the failures of DC and Saturn were just flat out tragedies....but first they need to get their game quality back up to par---theyve been killing Sonic for example..

Nope. I'm not dropping assumably $400 for a couple of Sega games I don't even care about. Besides if Sega made a comeback they would have less third party support than the gamecube.

For Dreamcast 2 with sega exclusives I would run to the store and sleep overnight for Shenmue alone at launch.

It depends on the games. I wouldn't buy one right away cause it would probalby have terrible third party support and Sega has really gone down hill:cry: I wish Ubisoft could get their hands on Sega cause I'm sure they could get them back on track.

I wish I could. I mean, I really loved the Dreamcast, it was such a great console. But these days a good number Sega's games just aren't what they used to be. They feel rushed and unpolished a good example being the Sonic francise. Its almost as if they are trying to kill the blue guy or something. So yeah I'd have to say no to supporting a new Sega console, unless they get back to making the solid games I remember.

Sega just needs some cash then all will be well again and they won't have to rush games out just to pay the bills.

i would vote no because theres already 3 systems out at war right now, if theres a 4th or 5th one, game companies would make less money and the competition would be harder, i'd rather stick with 3 being out.
