You do realize that if microsoft bought out Take 2 and made GTA 360 exclusive, that would mean they would have to scrap what they have made so far with GTA IV and start allllll over again and make the game from the ground up for the 360 exclusive!!.RagingBull25
...............
You do realise they have seperate teams that do these things don't you?
And you do realise they don't physically DEVELOP it on the PS3 or 360s, but on computers.
[QUOTE="-Super-Fly-"]Can you prove that GTA IV is being developed on the PS3? If not then /ThreadSuper-Trooperwe'll just have to wait til march 29 to see if it says which console the trailer is on.
Quite simply because GTA is being built from the ground up for the PS3 THEN being ported to the 360...............blah blah further rubbish...........RagingBull25
Hey n00b I point you towards: http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/grandtheftauto4/news.html?sid=6166642&om_act=convert&om_clk=gsupdates&tag=updates;title;4
In particular, to this: "GTAIV will use the RAGE (Rockstar Advanced Game Engine) previously seen in Rockstar Games presents Table Tennis."
Now if I am not mistaken the Xbox 360 has a game called "Rockstar Games presents Table Tennis" (which incidentally received an 8.5, a higher score than every PS3 game currently out bar 1): http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/sports/tabletennis/index.html?q=table%20tennis
Hmmmmm it seems the GTA engine is running on the Xbox 360, and has done so for a while. Looks to me like GTA has been built from the ground up for the Xbox 360, then ported to the POS3.
Your move n00b.

The developers said themselves that they made an engine specifically for PS3.
You have no idea of what you are talking about. I would love to see a link First of all, Rockstar made it clear that GTA4 will be using the Table Tennis engine. Table Tennis = XBox360 Exclusive, and the game came out in early 2006. You fail.Sony would lose so much money from buying take 2 it wouldnt even be funny. The lost money from dropping all multiplatform projects in addition to lower sales for the overall company (in addition to buying the company to begin with). It would be a huge blow to their profits. Sonys in enough trouble the way it is to make profits off of the PS3 and buying take 2 would not ease those problems one bit.Â

"Rockstar North is creating a specialized game engine for PS3 that will bring GTA 4 to life to a degree that the PS2 games could only hint at. Specifically, they're going to be using the high data transfer bandwidth of the Cell CPU, RSX GPU, and Blu-ray Disc to use several streams of game info simultaneously. The game's city- unfortunately yet to be even hinted at- will still be free roaming and seamless, but broken down into smaller, more detailed areas at the engine level, into which the game designers are going to be able to pour more textures, more object variety, and tons of details (such as discarded soda cans with their own physics), just for starters. The goal is a city that's less repetitive and where everything - and everyone- looks and acts more like they would in the real world on every level."

Rockstar to Use NaturalMotion's euphoria Engine
"The purpose of the engine is to create a dynamic environment, in which a body has a skeletal structure and is able to react to any sort of movement. Instead of animators having to animate all possible motions for the body, the engine creates this animation in real time. NaturalMotion was formed from research at Oxford University, as you can read from an interview about the euphoria engine. One of the most known games to use the euphoria engine is Indiana Jones 2007 on the PS3."

Ummm did you even read those articles? The first one was posted in 2005, and has been explained already. The next two talk about PART of a game engine which obviously would plug in to their main engine. It also says it works for Xbox 360.With that said one word comes to mind, COWS... OWNEDÂ
I have a strange feeling GTA IV might flop. :?demoralizer
Ya I kinda feel the same way.. But I am looking forward to see what they can do with the power of the consoles.
