If Sony does not make a PS4 who would you like to be the 3rd console?

Just a hypothetical question. If Sony keeps loosing money the way they have been and stay in 3rd place then choose not to make a PS4 who would you like to fill the void? Not saying there will not be a PS4 but lets face it things are not looking good for PS3. My choice is Apple making a igame or something.

A big company that delivers quality and hasnt yet focussed on games but when it does I hope/think it will rock

Has some experiences before and therefore has a great chance on making a good console.

Apple - overpriced but trendy POS.
EA - You think advertising is bad on Live? Wait till EA gets in. Their motto is quantity >> quality so no thanks.
Sega - I doubt they had resources to pull it off, but otherwise they would be my favs.
Dell - Uh, difficult to say, could actually work.

Intel or AMD would actually be good choises imo, I think they could built the most technically impressive consoles and would have resources to back them up with good games. Something like Siemens, LG etc. could surprise as well.

Impatient gamers these days. PS3 is not going anywhere. Neither is Sony. Nintendo had two bad gens with N64 and Gamecube, and yes Virtual Boy and now they are the Bill Gates of Japan with the DS and Wii. Microsoft did not win in there first attempt and that did not stop them either. I don't own a PS3 and i'm prob gonna sell my 360 for PC parts only cause i rather just PC game it up now due to these consoles trying to be like them now anyway, but thats just my oppinion. Sony PS3 won;t be dead until 2012 anyway, i think you gamers today need to learn patience and enjoy what you have. Many people are still playing PS2, Xbox 1 for Halo 2 online and Gamecube.

Heck i'm still on N64 games and PSone stuff. And remember Nintendo Wii sales will eventually drop, Microsoft will never take Japan, and Sony will prob lose overall in America. But there all succeed in the long run. And hopefully by 2012 my PC can run Crysis.

EA has no reason to. Everybody knows how much you lose when you first start doing a console, and EA is riding the money train being a software company.

EA could make a console and have lots of 1st party support. Of course it would be sports games, and fps shoots. But EA could do it.

Its EA money train, that could help fuel that of a new console from them.

Philips already tried their hand in the gaming market. Remember the CD-i?

Honestly I liked it better when people choose who'd be in the console race by the quality of games they produce more so then liking an electronic company's brand name (the 16-Bit Era).

So I'll go with the only company that can produce enough quality and quanity of quality of games and has the popularity to take on Nintendo.

Seriously just imagine the line-up. Street Fighter IV, Resident Evil 6, Dead Rising 2, Devil May Cry 5, Phoenix Wright 5, Monster Hunter IV. And just think these are the current franchises they are supporting could you imagine another Strider? Dino Crisis? Power Stone? Rival Schools? Capcom vs. SNK? Omimusha? Breath of Fire? Not metion that they are one of the extremely few publishers/developers that still create new IP's on a regular basis.

Also add in the publishers that would probably give them strong support: SEGA, SNK, Konami, Namco, Activision, etc.

Seriously this would be one killer console.
