Because the attach rate isnt good for the PS3 right now. And it takes atleast two years for a console to drop in price...usually. Especially a big name like Sony. They wont drop it until next year. And if they do, the 360 and Wii could price drop at an instant.Â

and actually, the 360 will still be a better gaming system.
Care to back that up with any info? I'll give you a list of PS3 exclusives that kill 360 exclusives. My opinion is bigger than your opinion!!! My mommy told me so...
These debates go nowhere.Â

"omg when Killzone 2 comes out you guys are going to be stuck with Gear of War hahhaha" umm... Halo 3
"omg when FF XIII comes out you're just going to have nothing, hahaha" umm... Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, Mass Effect, Fable 2
Microsoft is in a *much* better position to price cut - they're actually making money on the 360, the 65nm revision will be in production this summer, and they can manufacture 360s quickly to meet the surge in demand that would follow a price cut.
Â
If Sony decides to do a $150 price cut, Microsoft will follow suit, and I can guarantee you a $249 Xbox 360 premium and $319 Elite will outsell a $449 PS3. In fact, I'll go so far as to say at that pricing level Microsoft will sell four Xbox 360s for every PS3 sold.
Never forget Sony fanboys, Microsoft is in a much better position to cut price - if Sony decides to price cut the PS3 in October by $100, Microsoft will follow suit, hitting the popular $299 price point while the PS3 still struggles at $499.

Mass Effect (another KOTOR) and Halo 3 (another 2??) not enough.
The PS3 actually loses a lot more than $200 each. The $800 cost estimate is pure manufacturing cost for the console itself. It does not include the cost of the cables or the included controller or the packaging, let alone the cost of shipping, distribution, and the retail cut. Don't expect any price drops for a long while, especially if the PS3 keeps selling poorly - if it doesn't sell well enough to make up these losses with software they'll be forced to keep the price high to try to minimize the hardware losses.DKII
I'd like to contest you on the bolded point. If the PS3 keeps selling poorly, Sony may be forced to price cut as way to stimulate the market. Actually, no you may be right - Sony is not in a vacuum here... they'll want to avoid price cutting, even if they're losing the war, because they know tit-for-tat that Microsoft would price cut as well, hitting an even more popular price level while still leaving Sony stranded $200 above the competition.Â

See, its a nice list and all. But only these games appeal to me: Killzone 2, MGS4, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, God of War 3, and Gran Turismo 5. Sure, they might be worth getting the console. But thats why i`m waiting for a price drop.Â

Â
You don't get it.
The cost to manufacture an item, and what it costs to us are two different things. The 360 is not getting a higher price. Guess what? The Xbox 360 Premium still costs $399 at the store. Let me call Best Buy... hmm yup, still on store shelves, still costs $399.
The Xbox 360 Premium, according to analysts, costs about $323 to manufacture. The PS3, on the other hand, costs about $800 to make. That means Sony is losing $200 a unit on the PS3, while Microsoft is making $77 a unit. In reality, the systems actually cost more than their $323 and $800 estimated costs, as shipping, advertising, R&D, et cetera is not included in that, nor are we taking out for the extremely modest markup on each console at the store.
So, no, you don't get it. Microsoft can afford to cut the price of the 360 - Sony can't. So your fantasy "$449 PS3" doesn't, nor will it, exist. I don't expect to see PS3 price cuts before summer 2008 at the earliest, and not on the level of knocking $150 off the price tag. Jack Tretton has said a stern "no" to the PS3 getting the kind of price cuts we saw on the PS2, so Sony fans are sorry out of luck.
In fact, while we're on the topic of trying to claim the Xbox 360 got more expenisve - Sony has pulled the $499 20gb PS3 from the market in the US - the PS3 now literally cost $100 more as you are forced to buy the $599 60gb version. I, however, can still go to the store and buy the $299 core or $399 premium Xbox 360 - and this will not change after the Elite comes out.

Exactly. PS3 doesn't have a lot of interesting games IMO. At least not a lot which can compare to 360 and Wii. It would still be a rip off.

For everything else, I could list 2 game for each 1 on your list. (Forza AND P.G.R. versus GT5, Fable and any other 360 RPG versus Final Fantasy, etc.)
