Sorry but as a gamer, online has become something I adore. Sure I love the good old single player game, quite often too. I'm currently enjoying Overlord immensly, awaiting Mass Effect rabidly, and believe the Elder Scrolls to be one of the best games I've played in years. But I also can't give up the thrill of online gaming. Being part of a games community, seeing how deep a game can get, and just enjoying the thrill of frags, headshots, ko's or overwhelming bases. RTS, FPS, Fighting, RPG or MMORPG, I love what online gaming has brought to gaming. It's not that I can't love a single player game, infact Bioshock is one of my most anticipated games of the year, and I simply can't wait to play it, but I'm really losing faith in Nintendo when it comes to online play.

But how can Nintendo ignore the possibilities here. Super Smash has been an amazing franchise throughout the years, and it's time to get online to whoop up on someone. But no confirmation at E3 has me puzzled. Does Nintendo care about me? Or are they too busy head butting soccer balls to realize that they are forgetting what real gamers want? If I want to work out there's a gym two blocks from my house. I go there quite often to train for lacrosse season, so it's quite dishearting to hear that thier big E3 annoucement is.....a fitness game.

With each day I look at my 360 and realize it deserves to be next to a real gaming system, not a novelty item. If Super Smash Brothers Brawl does not feature online multi-player, my Wii will end up on Ebay. Plain and simple. I'll give Nintendo until they officially announce whatever they wish. My Wii will end up on E-bay to earn cash for a system that is truely catering to a GAMERS needs, just like the Xbox 360. A PS3.

Nintendo has been hit in the head with one to many soccer balls. Do the right thing Miyamoto, stop forgetting your fanbase because some overweight mother likes to play Warioware with her mongoloid children.

It scares me that they didn't bring it up when tlaking about online gmaes, but I hope they'll make the right choice in the end like they did for metroid prime hunters... (that game almost had no online, until they got so much mail that they delayed it 6 months to add online)

I'm not going to even consider buying a Wii if Brawl has no (or very limited) online features. Based on what was said about the current state of the Wii's online service, I have a gut feeling that brawl will disappoint.

Well, Brawl didn't get too much attention during Nintendo's conference, but yes the fact they didn't mention it when they were emphasizing how they were in the online gaming was kind of surprising.

60 fps, 4 player online and chaotic fighting system... Dude I think its impossible. Look at DOA 4, its 30 fps and still has lag when you play online. No Dev would want to release a really broken and unplayable game.

i would rather for them to hold it back another 6 months to include online then to just launch it without it, it would be extremely mad if they would launch it without online and most likely wouldnt buy it.

I'm buying SSBB, online or not, it's still going to be awesome. If online play isn't a feature (like SSBM), itcould be more fun to play when you have your friends over (for those of us who have real friends outside any sort of online community/friendlist).

I see online gaming as a bonus these days because it isn't necessary in order for a game to be fun to play. If a game comes with online gameplay, I'm like "Oh sweet it has online gameplay too!" I wouldn't get it just because it has online gameplay implemented.

I am 100% with you.

(except I think I'll beat SMG first... apparently they made the game pretty easy so that casuals won't have too hard of a time with it, so it shouldn't take too long.)

How can you prove that? Random matches online are primarily the point of online fighting games. If you want to fight you're buddy just register it once, of course it could do what Brain Academy did, and import you address book and friends. So it's not gonna be hard then, and you just send those friends a message on your Wii to setup matches and stuff.

Good argument, but that is how we all experienced SSBM. It would also be fun to play a 2v2 game WITH your friend AGAINST some other people online.

And you are absolutely wrong on the sentence I bolded. A game like SSBB needs online because it is so multiplayer driven. You must be a sheep, because if you owned any other console, you would understand that online multiplayer is expected, not a bonus.

I guarantee you its not online.

The released date is set.

The decision about online or no online is made.

They had every chance to annouce online at the press conference.

They didn't.

Yoshi's Story? Well it's a forum for opinions, though I fail to see the relavance of that remark to be interjected into this thread. Was that to insult? Randomness much? Whatever, it's your opinion, though that's not the nature behind my name.

It's not my SN. Do you see "YoshiStory" as my SN? No. Just "Yoshi" an underscore "_" and "64" if you must know. This account is a new account, my previous account, i had forgotten the password too, and I wanted somewhat the same name, so I just put the underscore where another word was. That's all. Plus the number 64 is one of my favorite numbers. This was before the N64 debuted.

I don't think there is any other Yoshi game out on n64, which is why I automatically registered yoshi64 to yoshi story. I guess that is just a weird coincidence that you like the number 64. Which only confuses me more as to how you came up with the number 64 as your favorite number. Usually people stick to 1-20.

If they've already said so before, why bother mentioning it. For me, I only care about new information. That's why, in my mind, the Sony press conference was the only good one, while the Nintendo conference could have been squeezed into about 15 minutes, and the Microsoft conference, about 120 seconds.

I'll have to be on the ship with you there.....By that time I could be done playing MP3 and SMG and well w/o online. I don't know why I should support what Nintendo is doing with that attitude. They shouldn't be made to think it's alright not to have online in a game like SSBB

Because the wii has no online games, despite what reggie says.

As for the conferences, I think Sony's was just exciting. Microsoft had the best game lineup, they just made the thing like a big long commercial for this holiday season and din't show off any new great games like Sony did. Nintendo was a joke.

[QUOTE="yoshi_64"]It's not my SN. Brown52

No problems, understandable.

Usuallyis the keyword there. How did that number come to be my favorite? Well once when I was little, I really liked the number six, and the number four, so I just combined them, and forever then 64 bacame my favorite number. 6 happened, because they always came best in sixes. (Pokemon team limit, Presents, Friday being the sixth day of the week, and so on.) Four because I just think it's a cool number to say.

I'll have to be on the ship with you there.....By that time I could be done playing MP3 and SMG and well w/o online. I don't know why I should support what Nintendo is doing with that attitude. They shouldn't be made to think it's alright not to have online in a game like SSBBMikeE21286

They never said it wasn't going to have online, where is everyone getting these ideas? Nintendo's just making it an extension of the normal multiplayer, not a focus like msot games make it.

[QUOTE="yoshi_64"]Sakruai already stated that it would be online, that it was the focus of the game in the beginnin or something. I don't have the direct quote or link, but it was said before. The absence of it from being mentioned scared me a little, but we'll see soon enough. Brown52

If they've already said so before, why bother mentioning it. For me, I only care about new information. That's why, in my mind, the Sony press conference was the only good one, while the Nintendo conference could have been squeezed into about 15 minutes, and the Microsoft conference, about 120 seconds.

Because the wii has no online games, despite what reggie says.

As for the conferences, I think Sony's was just exciting. Microsoft had the best game lineup, they just made the thing like a big long commercial for this holiday season and din't show off any new great games like Sony did. Nintendo was a joke.

2 games, Strikers, and PBR are out.

Mario Kart and Battallion Wars are gonna be from Nintendo. Lots of third party online games like EA Sports titles, Madden, Fifa, NBA, Medal of Honor, etc. Nitrobike (makers of Excitebike) Rayman, Guitar Heroes, and more. There's a good amount for many with whatever you're into, but hey... yeah it's late and yeah right NOW there isn't many aside from two, or one depending where you live.

That's the point, I didn't want to see an infomercial, I wanted some actual information. At least Nintendo delivered, if only a little.
