shovelware is all part of a inovative consoles beginings, developers needed to grasp the limits of what the DS and its touch screen control was capable of, it took a bit before games on the DS either used the touch screen to truely bring up gameplay value or stick with the buttons, barely using the touch screen if at all, casual games were also a huge part ofthe DSes beginings, but look at what we have now, we have truely hardcore games like contra 4, mario kart and megaman ZX.
i'm gona pull a cow here and say to you all " Just wait, DS had an exparimental cycle and its share of casual games, now we have truely hardcore titles on DS, same will be true for the wii, just wait."
