If the FF13's engine can be ported to the 360, why did Square invest in unreal?

If the FF13's engine can be ported to the 360, why did Square invest in unreal? Look at Squares other game announced for next gen systems and compare it to FF13.

FXIII engine sucks? Every developer and their dog is using UE3 these days, Square might just be licensing it because its easier to work with.

Looks better and is easier to work with, the same reason a ton of other devs are using it rather than their own engines.

Yes... magazine scans of a game that we've never seen actual gameplay footage of.... wonderful! Square is licensing Unreal Engine 3 because it is easy to work with, offers solid performance, and works well on the 360, PS3, and PC. It makes sense to use the industry standard, and is likely cheaper than moving their own engine to the 360 / PC.
