as a black gamer i am truly offended by the content shown in that RE5 trailer.

I'm fairly sure the whole Mass Effect did more harm than good to Fox News and that they'll be much more careful from now on. I mean after all, the big story on the internet was "ignorant incompetance at Fox News", not "Fox speaks out against filthy videogame". On top of that, a supposed professional woman had to publicly acknowledge that she talked about something she knew nothing about after reviews for her books tanked, and Fox are now entangled in a nasty situation with EA Games over misrepresentation.

Also, let's not forget that Jack Thompson was recently banned from submitting any further lawsuits in the Florida Court. If anything, bad press against videogames appears to be a thing of the past.

I'm more implying the mainstream media sources,
like fox and such, no one listens to thompson,
I mean, yes, Tipper Gore made the WWE huge, it happens,
but, you must admit, mainstream media in north america anyways,

I actually find this controversy behind RE5 ridiculously funny, because it's so one-sided.

They only see it racist because the majority of zombies you'll be killing are Africans. What if the role was switched around; what if you played as a black protagonist and you killed a whole horde of white people? They wouldn't give a crap about it.

They're just stating all this jibberish just to get attention, kind of like Fox News.

I think that's more because it was simply Spanish as a nationality; whereas in this case it's seen as black people, as a race. Of course i dont agree with it. They being black is simply a context of the story and location, but people love to jump to huge, metaphorical conclusions. I answer this thread with the well known episode of south park. the one where they become ninjas. they bought weapons and were using them on eachother, and butters got a ninja star in his eye.

this did not get noticed however, because cartman decided that he should get naked and try and sneak across the stage of an auction that was being aired. because of this, shouth park didnt give a rats ass about butters getting owned, because small children seeing genitals is a much bigger matter than racism, violence, wars, drugs... you name it.

that being said, unless there is sex in re5, no one will care that the main objective in that game is to kill as many black people as you can before dying.
