Alright im sorry. Lets change the topic. Would it have BEATEN the 360.No. The Wii just appeals to a much wider audience. Before the Wii, the casual gaming market had only been touched on by consoles.

To some people it hasn'tPS3 still won. It is the best of the 3 systems in my opinion. It is even better than pc in my opinion.

If the ps3 had left 4 dead 2 and a dynamic online system like xbox live. TBH i would have sold my 360 already for more ps3 games.PS3 still won. It is the best of the 3 systems in my opinion. It is even better than pc in my opinion.

No your not.If lets say The ps3 had. Mgs4 Demons souls Infamous And god of war 3 at launch and was 300$ Would it have won the console wars? I think it would have. Assuming the xbox was the same price. Right when the xbox gets RROD the ps3 would have gotten more fans and thus it would have owned the 360.DogOfWarIII
At $300 even with no games the PS3 would have out sell the xbox 360 far to easy.
If Sony had launched at that price point, MS would have had to included wifi, free live service, and HD DVD drive to compete. Ohh the possibilities.

True. Even at $600 if it would have had more games or the amazing graphics it claimed, it would still have had a chance to beat the 360. Sony had to work extra hard to turn their PS2 fans to buy the 360 and Wii like they did...lolYep. Would have benefitted both sidesIf Sony had launched at that price point, MS would have had to included wifi, free live service, and HD DVD drive to compete. Ohh the possibilities.

Lemme get my alternate dimension crystal ball out and see... hmmmm....
Anyway, it probably would have. I mean, all by one of my friends has a ps2 and the other one had an original Xbox. You have the 100+ million people with PS2s vs the minimal amount of people who bought original Xboxes. Didn't the Xbox cost $399 still in 2006 when the PS3 launched, too? Even if it were $299 like the PS3 is today, the PS3 would have crushed it because of fan loyalty, preferred exclusives, blu ray player built in, and all these other things that the Xbox doesn't have.
It probably would've been the same old stuff as last gen, only KZ2, GoW3, and UC2 probably wouldn't have looked as good as they do now, considering the developer support would've been so over the top that they wouldn't need to push the hardware to beat Xbox's exclusives (since the number of developers would have been negligible in comparison to PS3, causing Xbox to suffer once again). I'm not trying to be a fanboy, it's just my prediction.
So we are playing the what if game?
Okay how about this if thats what the ps3 gets then heres the what if.
The 360 was 250, hd dvd built in, never had a higher then average failure rate, came out with all the games it did and the stuff since then at launch...would it have won? and wouldn't by extension hd dvd have become adopted?
[QUOTE="racing1750"][QUOTE="Diviniuz"]Why are we playing the what if scenario... we never know.... unfair to give all those odds to ps3 and then make it half the priceDogOfWarIIIExactly. What if the 360 had launched at 200 dollars, and had Gears 2, Forza 3, etc. What if's don't matter. It would still lose.
*falls over laughing* I gotta love that. With what future amazo magic psychic powers did you find this out? can I have that alternate dimension crystal ball you got?

Wait. There has been an "sales winner"? And it was the 360?
Last time I checked the Wii had a more than healthy lead, and the "race" for second was far from over...
Look at it this way. It didn't and that is why it is in last place. I guess that bending the truth about current isses is not enough for PS3 fanyboys but now they feel content in changing the events of the past to mask all the failures. Anybody else seeing similarities to George Orwell's 1984?
When the ps3 was first released correct me if im wrong weren't Blu ray players going for over a 1000 dollars ? For that sole reason i believe they would have flown off the shelves for 300 bucks . raiden509Blu-ray players have never been over $1000. I remember buying one when they first came out for around $600. I bought the PS3 a few months later, but that original blu-ray player actually gets more use than the PS3.

A guy asks a question and you turn that into "changing the past"?

But, the question asked is heavily weighted in favour of the PS3 and even includes an anti-Xbox 360 statement. This is not a question, this is a suggestion to all us rational and non-PS3 loving minions that the PS3 has been perfect from the start.in this land of make-believe would the cost of making each ps3 and selling it for only $300 be taken into account?
No it doesn't need to. Sony is the ever lasting power in this wonderful utopia of System Wars. Money is no object!in this land of make-believe would thecostof making the ps3 and selling it for only $300 be taken into account?
marklarmer
Didn't PS3s cost like $750-800 to make when they were being sold for $600? And isn't Sony still hemorrhaging money due to the PS3?[QUOTE="marklarmer"]

It would have crushed the Xbox 360 if it launched at $300 with a solid lineup of titles.Stevo_the_gamerAgreed. I mean one of the better blu-ray players on the market for $300 is already enough of a reason to give it a massive boost in sales. Not to mention the 360 was $400 at that time.
