DS would probably might have still been winning. Nintendo has always dominated handhelds, first party games are great, DS still has 2 screens, DS would still be much cheaper.

It's not just the touch screen that makes the DS great and sell well. It's got many factors. -New gameplay design via dual screens, touch screen, mic, wi-fi, and games -cheap price -many games expandng the market DS wins becaue it keeps things low cost, it brings the consumer games that are portable and not giving you strenuous load times or confusing formats, or arbitrary features.

What if a bullfrog had wings? It'd fly, of course. Now what would happen if the world had to deal with flying bullfrogs can't be answered because we've never encountered it. The same can be said about the PSP and it having a touch screen.

The psp is actually good as it is. Adding a touch screen would just complicate things more and worsen the appearance not to mention make it all clunky to carry around. I think both handhelds are just fine the way they are right now in accordance to what they both have to offer.

i heard there is a add on touch screen for psp on the net. no games use it that i know of. also i think psp2 would come out in a few years tops.

actually the first hadnheld gaming system to use the touch screen was the tapewave zodiac. Also sony has been making touch screen organizers for years now.

Obviously at TGS 07 Sony will unveil the PSP2, with two microphones and an even larger screen, half of which will be touch sensitive. The price will be $400.

Stop using patents as "teh proof" that Sony wouldn't have copied the idea of putting it into a handheld gaming system from Nintendo. If it had been an original idea, they would have implemented it in the PSP.

sony clie handhelds, they've been making them for years now, that could be the inspiration, and I brought up the tapewave because it was first to use the touchscreen in gaming and both Nintendo and Sony copies them, so niether Nintendo or Sony should be complaining who copied whom.
