think of it as an 'accessory'. :P
And I assume it's still taking some devs. a while to wrap their heads around the motion-sensing concept.
SSBB is recommended highly with the old Gamecube controller, which proves the Wii-mote is NOT the answer for all future games.PhoebusFlows
yeah, that and don't forget the new mario kart too that they say controls horrendously with the wiimote...
normally we'ld blame the developers for being lazy and not doing too good a job, but these games SSBB and the wii's mario kart are first party titles.....

It's safe to say that the Wii-mote is not ideal for fast and furious fighting games, that's for sure.
The same way I wouldnt want to see Wii-mote used on Soul Calibur 4 or Street Fighter 4. But I dont have to worry about that, those games arent coming to Wii anyways. lol

and the PS controller works well for fighters. doesn't make it true or false that the 360's controller is superior to it.

uhm...y not? i'm just sayin', if the wiimote is so revolutionary, it should be able to control the game at least averagely, especially considering all the research nintendo must have poured into it....u shouldn't need to have to buy another controller(if u own neither the classic or the gamecube controller) to get the average experience..

Yea the Wiimote isn't really suited to the fighting genre at all but at least there are other control options to make up for it.
Fighting and car racing are the two genres that I haven't seen done well on the Wii yet (in terms of wiimote useage).

You do know the controls for the wiimote is not that bad right? Its quite comfortable, but I find the GC control a little better. I said it's not ideal for all genres. There will be some genres the Wii-mote doesnt handle well.
What, so it got a high score on SMG and Metroid, so that means it's the answer to all FPS and platforming games? So that means no need to make another Halo, Call of Duty or Banjo, just only make Nintendo Wii-mote games since it's so revolutionary based on those scores? I see sheep basing Wii's victory on just ONE game on ONE website, SSBB's score here at Gamespot. I think they're the ones that need a peptalk.

You must not have brawl fanboy, cause I can easily use the wiimote nunchuck combo then go to sideways controller.

....why does the wii still NEED the classic controller and gamecube controller?? i mean ps3 and the 360 have a standard controller that seems to work, i believe, for most to all the games on them...tok1879

its good for some titles...but awkwards for other....such as BRAWL....very weird feelingi_Pwn_TheVuhJay
well you don't even use motion controls for that.. On default motion smashs are off..
wow....same topic over and over.
not every game needs to use motion control. but you don't NEED the classic controller for SSBB or mario kart , it's just an extra option....
so your question is just a justification for YOU to miss out.

and i totally agree with you on that point....it just dissapoints me because this game could of really benefited from some stellar graphics......but im sure it will be fun...but i also dont think that nintendo should make me accept that its graphics will be meh....they made brawl and smg look great now why not mario kart

IMO the biggest flaw of Nintendo this gen is not the graphical capabilities its the Online, or lack of.. Brawl for instance after playing iit for some time have found it to be an amazingly indepth game thats awesome.. But it could have been legendary if it gave a real online support...
I could only imagine how amazing it would be with a online like Halo 3 for instance.. Where a person could go in, random max make, play with buddies, choose the game mode, actually communicate, etc etc..

SSBB is recommended highly with the old Gamecube controller, which proves the Wii-mote is NOT the answer for all future games.PhoebusFlowsUmm the Wii wasn't meant to revolutionize gaming but to take it into new directions. I agree the Wii-mote isn't good for fighting games, but it's better then an analog controller for shooters and games like Trauma Center, Zack and Wiki, Elebits, and Wii-Sports could not be done on any other console.

i think that those are the two major flaws that keep me from giving a damn about my wii that seems so hard for others to find/buy.....online is a big deal for me and wii's approach is poor at the very best....and i cant help it but for the most part wii's graphics make me feel bad for putting my hdtv thru so much anguish(i have a graphic OCD....cant help it)

It's just an option. Mostly for little kids who may have a hard time learning the new Wiimote and are used to the old NES and SNES controllers. Just about ALL the Wii games use the Wiimote and Nunchuk, but it's time to have an option to use the old tried and true controllers.
It's safe to say that the Wii-mote is not ideal for fast and furious fighting games, that's for sure.

You finally make a valid statement but then go and ruin it by throwing in a stupid anti-Wii remark at the end. There is little hope for you. :|
Even though those games may never come to the Wii, you can be sure that some form of at least Street Figther most likely will. I mean, it is Capcom afterall.

It's only "highly recommended with the old Gamecube controller" by people who played it on the Gamecube and are used to it that way. Some people can't comprehend playing a game in a new way. Personally, I think the GC controller is the worst since the Power Glove.

i think wii mario kart also is best played with GC controller
Kind of hard to say until it comes out. I don't put much faith in that IGN review, considering the guy's actions in the pictures are so completely backwards for the controllers. Tilting the GC controller, lifeless with the Wiimote....
