No the lems/cows wouldn't like it. It wouldn't be made by Microsoft/Sony, so nope, no love from them.

If Wii were a regular console with graphics rivaling the PS3/360, fanboys would bash it regardless.

I started a thread about these types of threads and no one bothers to respond.  Wii is Wii because of the controller.  It's not a GC with a new controller.  All an 360 is is an xbox with better graphics.  All a PS3 is is a PS2 with better graphics and a means to force BR down consumers throats.

No Wiimote = no sale for me. If it was similar to a 360/PS3, I would not have gotten it.
I have a 360, and that is the reason I am not interested in a PS3 at the moment, since the PS3 shares so many games with the 360 already.
I bought the Wii as a different system that my girlfriend and non-gaming friends could also get into with me. It has a different focus and a different game library, which is a great selling point as a second system for me.

All systems are progressions on the ones that came before it. For MS and Sony, progression meant an increase in computing power, leading to more realistic games. For Nintendo, it was a new way in which to interact with games on a whole.
Neither is right or wrong, but just different. All three systems have new things to offer that were not possible on a PS2/Xbox/Gamecube.

Remember GC2 would still be > GC1 with or without the controller.

Let's talk about taking game controllers out of the equations for a sec.

Have you ever played an Xbox 360 or PS3 without a controller? It makes the console suck, especially if you don't have a controller, which is vital for the success of any system.

Taking the Wiimote away from the Wii would be the same as taking the X360 controller away from the X360 and the PS3 controller away from the PS3.

Same with the PC. You can't really play PC games without a Keyboard or mouse.

ANY game console - controller = GAME OVER.

ANY PC - keyboard and/or mouse = GAME OVER (WHEN IT COMES TO PLAYING COMPUTER GAMES) (Christ!).

But what would be the difference between 360/PS3/GC2, why have 3 seperate consoles on the market if they all did basically the same?

No, but I DO think that a fully-decked (or close to) hardware platform WITH the innovative controller would have gone a VERY long way to making the other two systems obsolete.

Thats not really my point though. Personally I think its great that Nintendo does something different then the others. Last gen I had a GC and a PS2, but there were no games that couldnt work the same way if they had been developed on both systems. But when I buy a 360 later to accompany my Wii, there will be a huge difference in games that I play on Wii and 360, and that is what I think is great about the different consoles. If Nintendo had just made a GC2 it would be the same as last gen where the games could easily work the same on all consoles.

Personally I think the controller has a lot of potenential and it looks fun. But for me the wii either had to have great graphics or be considerably cheaper than the other consoles. Considering I got a premium 360 for 250$ because of holiday sales, I refuse to pay that much for a wii. I'll pick one up for sure if I see a similar great discount for it, but at the current retail price it's enough to keep me from picking one up.

You can't play electronic games without their controllers. Take the controller out of the equation and you get some unplayable brick instead of a gaming console. The Wiimote is the Wii's standard controller. Taking it out of the equation would make the Wii unplayable, just as the other systems would be without their standard controllers.

Hopefully there will be games that change your mind in the future. But as I see topic after topic on SW that compares graphicks between 360 and PS3, or the difference in specs of the two consoles, it makes me wonder why we would need a third console that does basically the same thing. Personally I hope that the next-gen all three will try to be more unique, so that games on all the consoles would be different, instead of 360 and PS3 trying to do the same as the other one does.

Yeah I know.

My Point:
Your statement is so obvious that is unnecessary and IMO retarded to even write it.
