What if Sega did make a Dreamcast 2? What if it the cost of one was around 200-300$? What if great innovative and fun games like Soul Calibur, Crazy Taxi, Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Jet Set Radio and Phantasy Star Online were on it? Would you purchase one?

I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

The Dreamcast had the most original games of last gen, many of which were some of the best games of last gen.

Actually Dreamcast wouldn't of failed it only failed because SEGA couldn't fund it anymore but it did sell well before they stopped manufacturing it. SEGA was still losing money from the Saturn that they had to switch to software only.

I would buy it because SEGA makes great games when they make games for their own console or work exclusively for one console.

You mean: SINCE the Dreamcast 2 is out, who has bought it? I bought the Shenmue 3 + Sonic Adventure 3 + 2nd controller bundle :D It also comes with an HDMI cable, so thats pretty nice, and it was $399, full BC too.

Genesis 2 would be better. They should take the first step backwards by going back to cartridges, I like them better than discs.

I'd wait for a while, see how strong the support is by buyers and developers.

Amazing games, a lot of which were the first of their kind, is the reason Dreamcast failed?

Valkyria Chronicles and Sakura Taisen are enough of a reason to buy their new console.

They didn't list reasons Dreamcast failed I listed them. SEGA was still losing money from the Saturn, they had a bad launch in Japan of the Dreamcast (That was only because of a shortage before the console launched) They were at 10 Million units sold within the 2-2 1/2 years that is half of a console lifetime it probably could've ended in 2nd if SEGA could still fund it.

I definitely will buy it. I also believe that if Sega didn't do so bad financially, there would have been a 2nd Dreamcast system. Perhaps in the near future, they will.

Have you PLAYED any of them? :| Most of the games on the DC were original or unique, not part of an existing series. Also, both Sonic Adventure games were awesome.

I wish I remained ignorant because then at least I could pretend the Dreamcast was an OK system... seriously it had like 5-6 good games (more than the PS3 at least and it wasn't a $599 monstrosity so I guess I will give it some credit).

Id agree with you (not on the PS3 part) but those 5-6 games also happened to be some of the most amazing games i ever played in my life :P

(the Jet Set Radio Franchise still remains today as my 2nd favorite franchise ever made.)

Someone here obviously hasn't played Phanasy Star Online. That game was as addictive as a heroin and meth milkshake.

Yeah Ikaruga is in my top 10 of all time, I think the main problem with the Dreamcast is that it didn't get that many established franchises... what's so funny is that I think that GTAIII AND Halo were to be exclusive to the system (or at least console exclusive) at some point... something like that. If that happened Sega would've won pretty much instantly.

I would buy it only if it could play burned games. That was the best feature of the dreamcast imo
