If they made these changes to the PSP, would you buy one?

Portable Video Gamer has compiled a list of all the things they would change in a PSP re-design.  I think that the only real purpose of a revision to the hardware would be to entice new buyers to pick up a PSP.  So, what do you think?  Would any of these things change your mind?

I don't mind the PSP's current design, even it's price is appealing.  My problem is there's only 3 games for it that I would want.

The only reason I would buy one is if it had games that interested me. It doesn't, so I'm not buying one no matter how they revise it.

I owned a PSP at midnight on its US release date. I loved it at first, then the new system syndrome wore off, and after months of sub-par games and over-priced movies, I sold it. If it makes it to $99.99 I would think about buying one again, but I'd personally get a DS before a PSP.

Things i would change.

1.Analog stick on top of d pad.

2. better shoulder buttons, something that doesn't feel like it will break , like the current one.

3. a foldable screen so i can fold it and the screen can be save from stuff in my pocket, like the DS

PSP might not have a touch Screen but it does have an analog stick but the current one is a joke.

It needs more Megaman games.

  • Game Boy = Rockman Adventure
  • Game Boy Color = Megaman Xtreme
  • Game Boy Advance = Megaman Zero and Megaman Battle Network
  • Nintendo DS = Megaman ZX and Megaman Star Force

All other handhelds have failed because they don't have an exclusive Megaman series and this is fact lol. Spin offs like Maverick Hunter X and the cute Megaman 1 re-make don't cut it. PSP needs its own Megaman series.

You heard it here first. Megaman wins the handheld wars

One thing I would do is not re-design it.

I would just make a PSP2 with the added features.

No reason to released another version of the same product. Sony doesn't need to be like Nintendo

Why would you move the analogue stick above the D-pad?  The current position seems to work fine for me.

second analog nub, switch the left analog nub with the d-pad, my thumb gets cramped bending for that little thing (and make the analogs roll instead of slide, it seems to be tough being accurate with the sliding analog nub). smaller overall system; its really not travel-friendly, i would happily buy a psp with a smaller screen if it meant the overall design could fit in my pocket with ease.. different outercoating, something that makes it look like it didn't go through a crapstrom everytime you touch it. replacable faceplates incase is the screen just gets way too scratched up. thats more or less my idea for a psp2 though, too much stuff for a psp1.5.
