I don't see the point of it. Its smaller, no UMD drive, just the ability to download the same stuff you could on the regular PSP.

it's cheaper to just buy a PSP 2000 and a 16 GB memory card individually

I've still got my PSP 1000 from launch. Really really boring handheld, so I skipped on the 2000 and 3000.

I was so certain Sony was going to be smart, and release a new handheld. Imagine PSP with Xbox power, touch screen, and built in memory for $250? With dual analog so it could have full access to everyting on PSN. That would have, imo, crippled the DSi considering the Playstation brand (while not as strong in the console market anymore) is still very strong in the portable market especially in Japan....That'd have been a smart move, but instead Sony disappoints yet again. They could have released a PSP that did everything the DSi does, everything a PS1 and PS2 could do, AND with so much more.....

I'd have totally bought a PSP2 for $250, but no way in hell am I going to shell out the same price I paid for my PSP...... FOUR YEARS AGO!!!!!! for a system that does the same exact stuff my PSP does now.

Even if you buy a PSP 3000 and a 16 GB Pro Duo Mark 2... It's still cheaper by $5-$10 depending where you shop.

no it wont hold 20 games. Alot of games are several gigs. so 16gigs could equal like 10 games i bet. Then when u run out of space, you delete a game, then when you want to play it again, you RE-DOWNLOAD the game. Kinda lame if you ask me. It's like trying to instal games on the 20gb Xbox360. Those games are always like 6gigs or something, so you can only instal a few games at a time.

NO i will NOT get a psp-go. ,but maybe a PSP2. I have a psp2000 and i dont see any good reason to buy another version of the psp.

It's 40% lighter than the original PSP 1000, and IIRC the PSP 2000 and 3000 are 33% lighter than the original, so weight really isn't a big issue.

It is about half the size in terms of dimensions (not when opened up of course). It's probably around the same size as a DS Lite I would think. Hardly justifies a $250 price tag though.

Why not? Touch screens have been around FOREVER, and are not expensive anymore to produce. ram/cpu/gpu power is very easy to increase cheaply especially with the ability to make each piece smaller. For Xbox quality power they'd be using 10 year old tech that's incredibly cheap, shrunken down to reduce production costs, and mass produced. That technology is out there, and readily available. Internal memory is also incredibly cheap to mass produce.

All that stuff could be added for just $250.

I just got a PSP 3000 the other weekend full knowing about the Go.
I do own my fair share of games, but there's just some games I'd like to rent, and you couldn't really do that with the PSPGO.

As said, you can also just buy a 16gb card, and have the ability to use UMD's if you'd like.
Not interested. Though, it's a nice idea, to be full DD, even so, I'd rather own the hard-copy.

No, at least I really don't plan on it.

First reason... I was head over heals for a touch screen. wtf? everything has a touch screen. comon sony. sheesh.

Second reason... oh well it doesn't have a touch screen so it will be cheap right? no. $250. Sony is really special. I guess when the world economy started going belly up sony fired all the marketing directors and analyists.

Third reason... Smaller screen

Fourth... digital distribution and incompatability with UMDs. Should probably get that figured out sony. Alienating customers that already bought your system isn't really that smart of an idea. It's common sense. seriously.

For everyone that already has a psp. keep it. Everyone that wants something new get an ipod touch or an iphone.

No. Wrong. They can. 600mHZ, 128MB RAM, Xbox level or better hardware? iPod Touch/iPhone. second analog hardly costs much

a 16GB iPhone is on par if not more powerful than the original Xbox and its $199.99.

and no, a two analog PSP would make no dent in the DSi's sales. what makes DS, dsi sell is it has a very superior library of games

You wont have to re-download the stuff. Just put it on a computer and take the ones you want off of the computer.

Swap out as needed.

That said, I am keeping my 2000. I got it used for $130 with a game, car charger, 1 gig card. I see 16 gig cards on Buy.com for under $70. So for $200 I will have everything I need, plus a bigger screen. I am downloading movies alreday (on a 4 gig card). Having the biggest screen available (besides an Archos player) is nice.

No. I've already got games on UMD and I don't want a platform that does download only and it's too expensive. If I want to upgrade I'll get a 3000 model, but I don't really see any point in upgrading. I haven't bought a game on the system in over a year. What the point of upgrading to a different model of a system you never play with?
