I'm relating this to Halo 3, and Bungies way of doing business isn't indicitive of the industry as a whole.

What's with all the %&^ch'n about Halo 3's map pack prices? I can see how people got a little upset at Guitar Hero 2's content, because that was justifiably overpriced, and more than likely should have been in the game. That was a total BS move on thier part.

Bungies puts about 4 months of work into some quality maps, and people get enraged, saying "these maps should have shiped with the game!". They complain as though the maps will never be free.

If you want to wait 6 months and hold onto your precious $10, then by all means do so. It's $10 freeking dollars!

You can afford your $400 Xbox, Xbox Live, High Speed Internet, music, movies, take out pizza, and tons of munchies for all that gaming goodness, but you won't pay a few bucks for some cool maps.

Way to put your foot down.:|

Just because someone has a PS3 or 360, it doesnt mean they could necessarily afford it, ya know. There are plenty of people that have no idea what a budget, responsibility, or priorities mean.

If they don't know what that means, then they have no business owning a 360/PS3, and certainly have no room to demand they get free content from every direction.

It's not a matter of being able to afford something but that of worth. I find it ridiculous that they charge that much. Resistance, GH3, Rockband, Halo 3........... Not going to pay because that's my opinion.

Just because we can afford DLC doesnt mean we want to spend money on DLC. Thats bullcrap. Why make us pay more for a game that we have payed fully for? Paying more than $60 for a game is bull. Its one of the main reasons I'm slowly going to PC gaming.

Its perfectly fine to pay $200 more for a gaming machine that is at par with the 360, but $10 or $20 is really breaking the bank...cows economics 101 for ya!

Agreed, why spend money on something that you can't see the value in? Just because I can waste money, doesn't mean I should. Can I afford $2 songs on GH3? Yes, but I won't ever pay that.

Can I afford $10 maps? But I'm spoiled and don't see the value in it. What ever happened to releasing extra content to keep interest in the game going? Or to get new people into the game?

What the TC doesn't understand, is the more you let them milk you, the more they will try and suck you dry.

some DLC is ridiculous like overpriced somgs that could have easily shipped with games, or horse armor, or paying 2 bucks for some gamer pictures, or stadiums and jerseys or old teams that have been free since the N64....

but charging for the maps is reasonable.

If you are happy to pay feel free but you sir are a mug, PC games come out cheaper on release and the downloadable content is generally free with the exception of very large add ons which are bigger than a lot of stand alone games.
