If you could only have ONE of the systems this gen, what would it be?

Lots of so-called manticores are playing a cop-out card this generation by flaunting their wallets around and claiming that the best route to go is to buy all three systems.

But if that route, for whatever reason, wasn't an option, what system would you ultimately pick?

For the argument, we can assume that we're talking about the console with all the options - the Xbox 360 Elite, a PS2 Backward Compatible PS3, and a... um... Wii... without disc read errors...

As for the PC, we'll assume that it runs Crysis at 60FPS with the highest video settings.
We'll also assume that if you don't pick the PC you'd still have a PC for regular daily activities; like checking E-Mail, looking up your favorite "video websites", and doing your homework. It just wouldn't be much of a gaming PC (Though it probably would still run World of Warcraft.)

360 probably

I'm biased, but I picked the PS3.

I've kind of grown attached to the exclusive PSN content, particulary Super Stardust HD.

That and the fact that I bought the system for MGS4, and I probably wouldn't own a next-gen console if it weren't for that game.

If I didn't have a budget and some sense of... morality of spending or something, definitely a suped up PC, hell yes.

But from consoles, easily PS3, no question about it.  PES2009 on XBox360 just sounds moronic (and I've heard it is) and not playing God Of War 3 or MGS4... i mean are you freaking kidding me??!?!

Overall, based on economic status, defo PS3 :D

Yup, PSN is free, w00t.  And why would any rational person choose to buy a machine that's prone to failure?

Pc, PS3, DS is the best combo this gen.

I have all three this gen but if I had to i think it would be the ps3, just for R&C, MGS4 and KZ2. :)

The menus feature some decent hand drawn artwork of the characters, but the in-game 3D renders are pretty awful. Even the vomit and burp effects look cheap.

Dammit, realistic vomit and i was sold...

xbox 360 - and I mean that with as little fanboyism as possbile. I just find that overall its the best overall gaming platform out there.

a little OT - but on the handheld front i'd edge the DS slight ahead of the PSP

This makes sense...cept I think pc would be a little closer to the 360 and the Wii would be so far down the line you would have to scroll down the page for days... 

I'd pick the Wii for:

- The nice Nintendo games and

- the rows and rows of classics on the VC plus original games on WiiWare.

Those games are still considered these days by a lot of people the best games ever. And I agree.
