As amazing as StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty, Shogun 2: Total War, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Sins of a Solar Empire, World in Conflict, Fallout: New Vegas, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat, Forza Motorsport 3, Batman: Arkham Asylum, LittleBigPlanet 2, Uncharted 2, Professor Layton and the Unwound Future, and Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor all are, I have to say my favorite game this gen is Portal 2.

Halo 3.

That's really hard. But I would say Mass Effect PC.

If it had the same gameplay as ME2 (Or ME3, if its improved), then it would be just about the best game ever made.

Dragon Age: Origins. Easily the best RPG I have ever played (and yes, it is marginally better than The Witcher 2).

Uncharted 2 will give anyone from the future a good idea of what we played back when we thought it was cool to watch Jersey Shore. :P

Id say Heavy Rain or Alan Wake since there's not many games like it this gen.

i always try to recommened demon's souls to everyone, but hardly anyone can ever get into it :( one of the best games ever, easily.

Super Mario Galaxy. Truly a revolution in gaming and one of my favorite games of all time.

It kind of depends on who, but if its someone who just recently got out of jail or something and is experiencing the outside world and gaming for the first time in a while, I'd probably pick...

The Orange Box. Its 5 games in one so its kind of cheating.

Other potential choices included Call of Duty 4, GTA IV, Uncharted 2 and Red Dead Redemption.

Demon's Souls is also one of my fave games this generation but if it enraged my hardcore gamer friends then I think it might turn off someone from videogames forever if this was their expectation for the insane challenge in all games (unless they were a masochist, then it might just make them videogame addicts).
