Not really, but it certainly points toward that way. I dont see too many people consider Bad Company 2 a CoD clone for instance, it may be a BF game taking ques from CoD, but not copying it enough to be a CoD clone.

If the FPS copies everything that's in CODwithout creating it's own identity I think the game should be called a clone of COD.

When the killstreaks, perks, etc. and even the fast pace linear gameplay style are almost the exact same YES. Go play Crysis 2 or MoH. Theres a demo for Homefront.

Perks are pre-installed hacks for casuals. Killstreaks just give you free kills and points.

Magnum Ammo=Stopping power

LW Pack=Extreme Conditioning

Ammo Upgrade=Bandolier

Grenade upgrade= 2xGrenades

Body Armor=Juggernaut

EXPLMK2=Sonic boom

Adjustable Force grip=Steady Aim

and there's a perk for more exlplosives in BC2 which is pretty much 2xRPG's and C4..

BC2 copied the noobish auto-aim knife. Oh and lets not forget health regen. Also the grenade indicator. Most of the attacthments are the same...

Some parts of the campaign in BC2 SCREAMED CoD as well.

When you're the best, I guess I see why everyone would want to copy you. And perks offer some players satisfaction and reason to continue playing.

Both are the EXACT same. So both are king.

the reward system in fps games started with bf2...it wasnt till cod 4 that cod had them...and since then bf has stuck with its reward system type...and cod has stuck with its type...they share some similarities but cod has added a lot of different stuff (killstreaks? martyrdom? etc etc)
