if your serious about it then id say Xbox 360 because its more likely to be more competitive and probly alot more players, however the dpad is pretty awful with the 360.

PS3(even though thats the only one I have out of the 2 choices) 360's Dpad sucks for fighting.

You have one PS3 game, a release game... something smells fishy, have a pic on-hand by chance?

I can manage with the thumbsticks on the 360 controller and I've adjusted to the D-pad. I already bought SSF2HDR for the PS3, so this time I'm getting SFIV for the 360, plus more of my real friends and siblings will get it for the 360.

I still don't know. I want to get it for the 360 but the d-pad is awful for SF games. Does anybody know if I can purchase a 360 arcade joystick that is CHEAP? Otherwise I'll get it for PS3.

PS3 Collector's Edition. It's simple I only use my 360 for exclusives(and Fallout 3 insanely poor mutliplats) and don't pay for X-Box Live. Also the D-Pad on the 360 is horrible for fighters.

I really do ope you are joking. What makes the 360=more competitive? That makes zero sense. Also im sure both PSN/live will have alot of players. On topic im getting for PS3. I just like using the d pad for fighting games. I know people are like get the stick, but im not paying near 100 bucks for a dam stick.

I suppose the ps3 version will be better with the d-pad. But if you really want to buy that controller for the game, you can get it for both consoles can't you? if that's the case then i dont see why one would choose the 360 version over the ps3.

I'm getting it for PS3 for these reasons: 1.) PS3 face buttons and d-pad is more responsive. And I'm not spending more money on a stick :| (and I'm not making one). 2.) My XBL is expired and I don't plan on renewing it right now. 3.) CE comes with Ryu figurine instead of C. Viper 4.) Blu-ray movie bonus.

i am buying it for the ps3, for the faster loading times. http://xbox360.qj.net/Capcom-s-Seth-Killian-on-Street-Fighter-4-load-times/pg/49/aid/128033 and since i have 160gb on my ps3, installing wont matter to me.

The recently shown builds were final in terms of contents, but were not actual retail discs. They are development ROM discs, which play on development kits. Dev kit units are known to be a bit trickier than retail, and things occasionally have odd glitches there, but regardless of any she-said, he-said nonsense, when everything is working right, nobody noticed any differences between PS3 and Xbox load times. Capcom had PS3 and Xbox SFIV running literally side by side all week at CES with no shame -- if there had been some loading difference between the two the hundreds of press who came through would have been all over it, and we might have even tried to avoid putting the two machines near one another. We didn't because the game loads perfectly fast on both systems, especially if you opt for the installation on PS3.

hyogen

Have you played Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD, Soul Calibur 4, Tekken 5, Mortal Kombat Vs. DC ONLINE? The ONLINE for fighting games will be IDENTICAL. There is nothing to it. Two people go in a room, battle, and someone else gets a turn. It's completely simplistic.

In this scenerio LIVE, PSN, it won't matter in the slightest.

LIVE's Crossplay Chat may be nice if you want to talk to a friend playing GeoW2 while you are playing SF4 however.

Also, I've had a LOT of time with SF4, and it's going to be fun.

Finally, you will need to buy AT LEAST TWO fighting sticks if you are hardcore, since you would presumably have friends over.

If it does come down to a DPAD, obviously the PS3 has a huge advantage though.

I paid $182.79 for the 360 SFIV TE Stick :D

It is funny to see them struggle, fuss, and fight to try to get one over at SRK but hey I feel their pain as I was one of them.

As to what version I'm getting. I have no idea. Once I get the stick it will be custmoized to Dual PCB for compatiblity for both systems so the only thing left for the decision is to wait until each game comes out and look up how each perform online.

Why do you need two? The stick is for you and not them. Most of my friends would never even touch a stick in the first place. The stick is for me. If you have a desire to use one then buy your own lol

How many hours of frusteration and abuse can your friends take before they realize you are in one corner pumping away at a $180 stick, and they are fumbling around with a Dpad (Or worse a 360 Dpad) before they never want to play again.

Last Generation, it only took about a few weeks before I was declared king of all fighters, and they never wanted to play Fighters with me again. Of course, my fighting posse have sticks, but I would love if everyone could play.(I now throw games to keep the casuals interested, give them a taste so they come back for more)

But hey, you're right, let them suffer, it is at least entertaining. :)

That's there decision. I don't have to be hardcore to buy too. Buying one would entitle you to be hardcore. Hell more then hardcore people are literally willing to offer sacrifices for those things. If they don't want to play it again. That's them. I don't need to buy two.

Most people when they go to events bring their own stick. They don't use other people's. You don't get provided one. If they don't want to play well that's them. There are some people who refuse to play COD LAN on the Pitt networks because they hate M/KB and when they use controller they get crushed and say its unfair.

Arcade Sticks have a learning curve anyways. No new comer is going to pick it up and be immediately competitent with it anyways. I can't name a person who picked up an arcade stick and was just immediately proficient right away.

Most of my friends that are casual players don't feel like fighting over the learning curve so they just use the pad.

Its a waste of money to buy two. I buy for me and for me only. I have a custom X-Arcade Dual and most of the time others just usually opt for the pad anyways.

Having to buy a peripheral for a game is more like obsessive than hardcore. I'm a hardcore Street Fighter player, not a hardcore fighter fan, but Street Fighter nonetheless and I'm not getting the stick. I'm getting the PS3 version for the d-pad.

Ps3 would be the better system.

The best SF4 players in the world are from Japan. And PS3 has a larger user base then Xbox360 in Japan.

You'll be able to play against better competition if you pick up SF4 for the PS3.

Also the big Capcom fighting games tournament called EVOLUTION will be utilizing PS3 as their console of choice for both SF4 and SF2:HDRemix.
