If you think Alan Wake was a flop you never played it

Alan Wake is one of the best games of this generation and its getting so much hate.Everybody who played Alan Wake knows that the score GS gave it was bad and it should have been higher atleast a 9.0.So for all of you who say it was a flop you either never played it or your a fanboy,simple as that.

I dont know about one of the best. The combat was just terrible, but it was a great game.

Floppage on SW relates to hype and actually score. Based on that, it flopped. And that has nothing to do with playing the game.

it fell under the expected sales, but what do you expect? it went against red dead redemption, and besids, if we are talking about exclusives flop then we should talk about demons souls...

One of the best games I've played this gen. :P

Was it hyped AAA? If so, it flopped. I've also played it and got all the orginal 1000 gamerscore in a weekend. Worth the rent, not the buy.

I thought it was a great game. I don't really care what people say about it or what GS or anyone else scored it. I enjoyed it and that's all that matters.

I played it and thought it scored too high. It was rubbish, bland and repetative. The story wasn't even remotely interesting.

Flop doesn't mean it failed to be good, it was just below SW expectations. People expected a 9.0 here and it got 8.5.

Heavy Rain is considered one of the greatest games of this generation having garnered critical acclaim and great sales, but its still a flop here because it was .5 points less than expected.

Nope and I have absolutely no intention of ever playing it either.

Its just funny how much lemmings hyped it up. They were also very arrogant with their claims that "it will score better, sell better and be the better game, than Heavy Rain because anything microsoft > Sony"

And it did neither. In fact, Heavy rain isnt that far behing Mass Effect 2 to be honest.

Yes. For better or worse, we use GS scores only.

I played it, and I own it, and it's in my Gamertag.

Highly disappointed with it....it was like a cross between the original Silent Hill and Max Payne, but didn't have the magic for either.

The story and protagonist really bothered me, and the gameplay was uber repetitive. Shine light, shoot, run.

I have been waiting on this game for so long (It was being made before the 360 even came out, revealed early 2005!), and I was one of SW biggest Hypers and Supporters of this game, and I got links to prove it. Heck, I thought it was going to the 360's Uncharted 2 this year.

Ultimately, it let me down bigtime....I like like the game, but I don't love it, and I expected to love it.

Also, HYPE is different in SW, it's about Predicting Gamespot's score, then seeing what GS scores. Alan was predicted to have AAA, and it got AA.

Still a good game, but not the masterpiece or best games of this generation to me at all (Metacritic also agrees as well)...but of course, I have all the machines, so I'm not limited to just one machine when I make a statement like that.

demons souls has been out for more than a year now and it sold around 720,00, alan wake have been around for a couple of months and sold around 700,000, which is the slaes flop?

That's what a flop is in System Wars. A game that scored less than it's hype (i.e. hyped AAA, scored AA).
