There's some problems with their article. While the read is interesting, the part about NASCAR on page 3 is a bit false. First off, the guy says:
"Polyphony has gone out and licensed NASCAR for Gran Turismo 5, complete with the correct cars, sponsors and all that. One interesting bit about NASCAR is that the races feature way more cars than anything we've seen in Gran Turismo before, and unless the game can support 40-some-odd racers, it wouldn't be accurate. Polyphony is not a studio to not adhere to accuracy, so expect huge fields of cars this time, even if it's only in NASCAR races."
If you watch the trailer we see about 16 cars, which is what GT5P has. I have not seen any evidence of the field size being anything larger than 16. Am I saying I know for sure that GT5 won't have 43 car NASCAR fields? No, trust me I hope they do! But unless this guy has some inside info that is pure speculation at best. Secondly, while we do see some cars that are authentic to NASCAR there are actually only about 5 or 6 actual drivers on the track whereas the other 10 cars are of those same drivers but with different paint scheme. In other words, there might be 3 or 4 Dale Jr cars, 2 or 3 Jeff Gordon ones, etc. all racing at once based on what the trailer shows. Furthermore that I have no idea how Polyphony could fit all of the NASCAR tracks onto one disc. There's 22 different NASCAR tracks and while I would be giddy with joy for life I don't think PD is going to be including everything there is to include for NASCAR. I would guess that they are going to give us a taste of NASCAR but won't be able to include a full fledged NASCAR game into GT5.
Another problem I found on Page 3 was about Drag Racing:
"Now this could be a complete race track, but it's not very likely. In the following shot, you'll see two cars racing down what looks like an airport runway (which is very likely what it is). There's never been drag racing in a Gran Turismo game before, and while running the 0-60 times is cool, you've only ever been able to compare two cars' acceleration and quarter-mile by way of their leaderboard times. Here, it looks like you be able to go head-to-head with another car in proper form."
First off it appears that the track in question is the Top Gear track. It does feature a drag strip but they don't use it for timed races. GT5 might do that but who knows. Also, technically Drag Racing has been done before. They were going to do it in GT2 but they took it out which is why you can get dragsters but not 100% on the game (in North America at least). Other than those two things I think the article is interesting from a graphical standpoint and pre-rendered graphics vs in-game. I still wanna see some gameplay though, which I think will happen at TGS (where GT5P was revealed in 2007).
