But I thought System Wars only cared about GFX? Anyway's... I'll edit some more awards inWhat I find more intriguing than the awards themselves is that TC finds the only worth-mentioning awards to be for graphics and 360, PS3 and PC GOTY's.

I will make no predictions about what they will give GOTY after what happened last year. They had two AAAA games (MGS4 and GTAIV) and they gave the award to Fallout 3 for absolutely no reason other than it would make everyone happy. :|NAPK1NS
They're good with their surprises usually when there are two giants battling it out. When that happens, usually the third place game comes in and wins, probably because of some odd point system IGN uses to tabulate the winners where second and third place choices matter. When Gears and Twilight Princess were duking it out everywhere, Okami won on IGN.

But IGN knows that MGS4 was goty 08 :D
360 story : Batman: Arkham Asylum
PC story : Dragon Age Origins
So which has the stronger story? Apparently they both beat each other. I'm confused. In any case Infamous beats them both, which is ridiculous. Played the first five hours or something and what little story there is is rather dull, the characters annoying and the world about as convincing as an inflatable anchor.
Might as well have some fun with this... :P
I'll go over the awards I saw that surprised/disappointed me... :P
So... A 2007 game won over a 2009 game? :? This is what Gamespot almost did last year with Bioshock's PS3 release... Only IGN has now taken it to the next level- giving an award to a game that was released 2 YEARS AGO...
Not surprising in the slightest- but I am still disappointed. It just goes to show that IGN doesn't care about AI quality- when it can make or break a game like this. This is because Empire's single player was almost complete garbage due to an AI that was utter trash (Well- at least the naval battles were still surprisingly good- but the single player land battles sucked oh so horribly). Why most critics continue to ignore OBVIOUS flaws like this baffle me.
Well- we all know IGN adores Patapon... But- can it really be considered as an action game? I'm personally led to believe that it shouldn't have been nominated for this one... I'm betting they just nominated it so it could win another award other than PSP game of the year (which was even less surprising- but I'm not gonna complain about that one).
I'm not complaining on who won this one- what I am complaining on is the nomination decisions... Observe their nominations list and figure out what was left out:
Where's Dissidia? :| It WAS nominated for best action game weirdly enough- but I personally feel that Dissidia belongs in the fighting category- not action.
Anyway- I'm done having fun ranting on my oh-so-unimportant-opinion... :P Which of the other awards do people think were given weird results? :D (This should be fun... :P )
360 graphics : Modern Warfare 2 (LOL!)Ultimaspooges
Yes, that is quite LOL, i think AC2 and Batman: AA on the 360 looked better than MW2...:?

Probably because multiple people gave their opinions about which game had the best story. Maybe they tried to be original and not pick the same game for all platforms and so they chose different ones which of course is obviously just plain silly since Batman and Dragon Age are multiplatform games.
[QUOTE="Crusher89"]ya the 360 didn't have alot of good exclusives this year. o well next year will be good with mass effect 2, splinter cell, halo reach, Odrecthe only exclusive there is Halo Reach :| splinter cell and mass effect on both exclusive to 360. i also forgot alan wake now that im thinking about it.

No they are both also on PC (no wonder 350 games sell so much people actually think they are exclusive  ). Alan Wake is exclusive yes.

These two games won those categories primairly because IGN has separate groups picking for each console. So IGN's PC editors picked Dragon Age- while IGN's 360 editors chose Batman: AA.

The PC awards are given by the PC review staff and the 360 ones are given by the 360 staff. It's entirely possible for them to have different opinions. When the overall awards come out and everyone at IGN votes for Best Story, then you'll find out the general opinion of the site. IGN is structured differently than GS. There they have a Sony, a Nintendo, a 360 and a PC team. Here, everyone's just mushed into one so when GS votes for which Wii game had the best story, you're getting the whole site's opinion, for example.

The definition of exclusive is very clear.

They absolutely praised MGS4. It won so many awards, including Best PS3 Game and Best Graphics. But then GOTY suddenly went to Fallout 3, it's so obvious they did it to please everyone. Besides, if Fallout 3 is Overall GOTY, should it also not be PS3 GOTY (it was X360 GOTY)?!

Why did you bother commenting on it at all when it's basically as if you didn't play it?
