I had no high expectations. From the videos it seemed that they were able to mimick every single annoying thing in JRPG's.

I don't know anything of the plot, though.

Sometimes, the one thing I'll give it over GS is that the reviews actually come out on time.

The problem with a 16 bit Sonic remake is that most of the people who worked on the original Sonic games have fallen out with Sega and have moved on. The 2-D GBA games were bad. Sonic was overrated in the 16 bit days too, Sonic 3 in particular you just run through without stopping unlike Mario which had far more diverse gameplay.

You must be mistaken. Most of these "websites" are actually magazines and are not "no name." They are well-known.

Since a major gaming site gave this game 6.5, I am waiting to see what scores GameSpot and Gametrailers will give it. This may be a game that will have mixed reviews similar to Shadow the Hedgehog that received many negative reviews but some positive ones (Gametrailers for example which surprised me, which also gave Mario Party 8 a high score as well).

If Sonic Chronicles, Sonic Unleashed, and Sonic & the Black Knight do not get decent scores, Super Smash Bros. Brawl may well be the only decent game that Sonic appears in for this generation.

Whoa, thats bogus. Have you even played Sonic 3? Its like Sonic 2 except way more expanded and better in practically everyway. Describing Sonic 3 as, "you just run through without stopping" is like describing Super Mario World as, "you just jump on people's head's without stopping."

I'm not gonna argue Mario over Sonic because in all honesty, the best Sonic game was basically in line with Mario 3 (mario 1 but expanded). We never got something like Super Sonic World which blew open the old format and enhanced everything to perfection and was a massively huge game. However, I think Sonic has more variety in gameplay. Mario really is just jumping on people's head and 2d platforming. Sonic is that but it also had tons of bonus stages that played completely different. The weird bonus stage from 1 that I can't even describe, the 3d race from 2 and both the bubblegum machine and 3D sphere collection thing from Sonic 3.

Plus you got to fly a plane and snowboard.

Which is why Bioware should stick to the 360 and/or PS3 and stay wayyyyyyy away from underpowered Nintendo crap that avoids last gen technology like voice overs or button use. Or maybe general quality game programming.

That and Sega should have put Sonic out to pasture with the Dreamcast.

You have no idea what you are talking about. Sonic 3 and Knuckles was the best 2D platformer ever created. It is not just running through, there is some great platforming, and unlike the mario games(which I also love) you are moving in all directions. You go up, down, left, and right. In the mario games (NES ones in particular) the only way to go is right and almost every level looks the same.

Im going against Gamespot on this one, im still gona get the game, being a sonicfanatic myself, ive also been looking forward to it, and i saw the stage demo at E3, so it looks good and im still going to get it.chimpool999

I'm sorry you disagree with me on the fact Nintendo generally shuns advancement in technology, and has done so for generations now, but directly insulting me proves nothing than your unable to come up with any reasonable objection to my statement.

I'm glad it got good reviews elsewhere, but IGN is pretty trustworthy.

Let's hope Unleashed is good, or it may be time for Sonic to hang it up.

You're ignoring the fact that a 6.5 isn't considered "trash" by IGN standards, and that some of those "websites" (They're magazines.) are actually well known.

By the way, I don't have any interest in picking this game up, but it will be good to the people who were looking forward to it, I'm sure.
