You'll tire of the tracks before you tire of the cars, but there is more here to do in many full-priced games

And all for a great price of £17 (pounds)

Yeah yeah. I'm still not going to pay for this AND GT5...
That's $100 for 1 game! (GT5 will include GT5P content).
I'm sure this is great for big fans though... and I WILL be buying GT5.

One should not be excited about paying 100$ for one game without any paraphernalia(not saying you are)...

Well, that exclamation mark was meant to deliver shock instead of excited glee.
But yes, that is very true.
Well the reveiew should end those forza 2 vs gt5p graphics comparison threads, IGN just called it the prettiest racer out there.supras989
I'd be happy with the graphics for either one. It's the physics of GT5 that puts it in a league of it's own.
Ouch! Oh well, I guess every king has to lose its crown, right? It's still a good score, though. BioShockOwnz
Flame bait and since i saw that it was from you, i'm not even going to try... You know better. :)
This after all scored more than that game... hmmm. whats it called... Flop Sector? :P Ok i'm done.

Flamebait? Nah, just honesty. I said it's a good score. I'm one of the few who have played it here, so I love when people call me a fanboy when I'm the one who has played it. *sigh*
Average score. What did you expect from a demo though. Still not worth $40. I'll wait for the full version with working online and damage in the game. blackace
Average? lol A Prologue released very close to a new IP that score a 7.5 and cost $60 and you say this is average and not worth $40?
But yes the full game will be better... :)

Well i most certainly didn't call you a fanboy. :)
But you have the American version of the game already (you know. the superior version)? When did they release it?

It's not worth it because there is going to be a full game. I don't know about you, but I really don't want two copies of GT5--one being a half a game.

Pretty sure he has the jp version.

If you can wait another year or however long it is for some GT, you are a much stronger person than me.

Do what I'm going to do, sell Prologue about a month before the full game comes out for $20-30.
8.0 Presentation
Slick interface and easy to navigate, although there's a little too much to-and fro through menus to get some stuff done.
9.5 Graphics
We don't really have qualms saying GT5 Prologue is the best looking racing sim we've ever laid eyes on. Super crispy car models, hyper-detailed interiors... it's gorgeous.
8.5 Sound
The menu music is typically Gran Turismo - a dire concoction of splashy cymbals and Casio keyboards, and the race tunes are forgettable. But the engine notes? Best in the business.
8.5 Gameplay
Two levels of handling physics (standard and professional) plus a slate of driving aids makes GT5 as challenging as you want it to be. It's a finesse racer. Very civilised.
7.0 Lasting Appeal
You'll tire of the tracks before you tire of the cars, but there is more here to do than in many full-priced games. Should keep you busy for many hours, and will definitely entertain GT devotees.IGN
Fair enough. Lots of points for visuals and quite a bit less for everything else. Pretty much the way I see the series these days. They better work double double hours for GT5 to be relevant when it's released. But I reckon they've shown their vision rather clearly. Kaz and team is all about styl and presentation. Just look at that pointless pit stop animation they're using as a backdrop for a menu. How much time do you think they put into that? Rather than working on something that's actually useful? When I first saw screens of it I imagined they had a fully functional pit crew in the actual game, but nope, it's a backdrop.
I'll definitely be skipping GT5P as it offers nothing that excites me. Pretty cars again, whoopdedoo. Polyphony Digital has wrong as hell priorities.
The two things I do find interesting however, is the cockpit view, which is admittedly freaking awesome. And the Top Gear test track. If GT5 offers little improvement over GT5P, which is honestly what I'm expecting, that might actually be the thing to maybe potentially convince me to purchase the game.

Are you sure? So damn many people buy for what you may think are wrong as hell priorities, but remmember. GT 5 is not available until next year, so you can expect some new things. :)

What I think are wrong as hell priorities? So you disagree? But yes people buy it. GT has reached a point where people will buy it no matter what. Or well, as long as it has teh graphics. That's all people care about apparently.
I very much doubt it. It'll have more cars and tracks and that's that. Perhaps you'll be able to decorate the cars with wunderbaums or something equally useless.

@insaneBasura
You bash a lot without any actual information.
People buy GT because it's one of the top if not the top game in it's genre. It's got gorgeous graphics, amazing attention to detail for car fans, great physics, accurate car models, great courses to race, online play etc...
What are all these "wrong priorities" you are referring to, I guess I'm not seeing it.
